Assault Variant:
Same damage stats as the current PLC
Base Splash Radius is 3.8
Max. Ammo at 12
Normal Variant:
At least 20% higher Direct/Splash damage than the Assault Variant
Base Splash Radius is still 3.5
Charge time is 1 s (or 0.9 I don't know for sure xD)
Breach Variant:
Very high Direct Damage (to be more AV oriented)
Splash damage is the same as Normal Variant
Splash radius is 1.8
Charge time is 1.4 s
Additionally, the operation skill for this weapon is to be replaced with 10% Splash Radius increase per level. I say 10% because I tested the damage received on different distances from the point of impact and I only received the full damage around 2 meters or less. The current operation skill is about as useless as the old Splash Radius increase for Swarm Launcher (5% reduction per level to charge time of 0.6 isn't helpful). |

I like this, save for your idea for the skill... 3.8 splash suddenly becomes 5.7 and we're right back to the issue of the Flaylock pistol.
Now if it increased projectile speed... Make that round get to where its going faster... Then Id be impressed... |

The flaylock pistol is a sidearm which has a 3 shot clip and can be dual wielded by any Dropsuit; the PLC only has 1 shot, needs to charge, has High CPU requirements, and has a long reload. |

I don't understand the SL hate. Yeah it takes no reflexes but it's easy to evade and less effective against good drivers than forge guns by far.
Buff the PC to be on par with the SL, don't nerf the SL. |

I don't think splash + (high damage) is a good bonus considering I primarily use the weapon for anti-infantry right now. Maybe have splash with low damage enough to start popping equipment but not kill infantry while having a very high direct damage.
I would prefer projectile speed as a bonus though. Far to often I see a player matrix around my shot at standoff and further ranges.
Overall something needs a buff with it. |

I'd love to start seeing people wield PLCs. They're so underused and yet remain one of the coolest weapons in my eyes.
On that note, I'm pretty sure CCP has stated in one of their weekly feedback that they're going to be tweaking the PLC.

This weapon in its current condition is not worth using. If any comments are posted in this thread then it MUST be about the variants pointed out or a recommendation of new operation skill as these are the only things requiring attention by devs. The PLC needs the improvements I pointed out or better so I will keep bumping thread as necessary.
I think this proposal would dumb down the weapon and make it too easy to use especially at higher SP invested. I frankly don't like this. I can see this turning into Viziam or Freedom where any noob who sank time and SP gets to spam I WIN button. |

Why are Flux Grenades so much better than the PC? Oh right, it can completely decimate shields and are more reliable. |

I love the plasma cannon. I even made a post about why I love it.
You sure you want to balance it or add variants? Because I can go top of the killboard with it already. Shield tanks fear me! |
