After an interesting conversation on IRC about LLAV's and what exactly is making them such OP road killing machines I had a thought. Slow LLAV's down so that there top speed is between infantry and HAV's. While at first this may not seem like very good solution, lets think about it. To serve there main propose of repairing other players they need to have high survivability, I have no problem with that. They need to be able to stick with the people they are trying to support, they are not scout LAV's or regular transports.
Obviously the remote repair tool needs work for it, but I think this could also go well with the remote supply depot idea posted in this forum currently.
What does everybody think about this, just kind of spit balling this idea. |

Agree, it's not so much the massive eHP of the LLAV but that it gets that and the speed of a normal LAV. |

Ya it hit me, that to do its job of repping others it needs some staying power, so it needs its ehp, but it doesn't need to be able to run the indy 500. So slow it down to a speed that requires it to stick with others. |

Slow it down, fix the remote repper targeting, and protect the driver more. Make it an honest MAV.
Some wishful thinking would be deployable shields(orbital proof) and change the repper to an AOE effect. A hand repper can heal multiple, why not make the vehicle based version heal the closest 5mercs? |

I agree. But I see it as sort of a bastard MAV until they actually get added, but atleast slowing it down would force people to maybe try and use it in its proper role.
Edit: And reduce the murder taxi effect as it were. |

the slower the lav goes the harder it is to avoid...
lavs r suppose to be weak and fast..
the free lav is already weak and fast...
since it was removed.. we have proto users running around everywhere...
and even more tanks runningaround too..
an unfitted lav cant survive 2 std av grenades thrown in quick succession..
logi lavs r the ones that can tank stuff...
and the lavs might have had more hp before uprising came out...
because of having a maxed out field mechanics gave them alot of hp..... |
