We can all conclude a few things here:
1) Vehicles are very expensive 2) It takes quite a while to spec into all of the high end modules and vehicles you fit them to 3) Every Pilot hates when someone else takes their 2-4 million ISK tank/ship
A feature should be added that does one of the following:
1) Make it to where the driver seat is locked to the one who called the vehicle for 60 seconds after it is deployed and every time the vehicle is exited. When my tank is on fire and my reps are charging, I jump out and rep the tank. Then a blueberry jumps in and hauls off with my tank. Making it explode. Or I get out of my taxi to hack an objective, and a random jumps in my 150k ISK LAV to do what they please. Surely this isn't an intended game mechanic?
2) Create a module to equip to a vehicle to lock it out or force a recall after the pilot dies. I hate when a Balos swings to the side in a drunken stupor and kills me, drops my tank, and lets a blueberry have it.
3) If someone isn't specced into the vehicle/modules, don't let them pilot it. My pilot isn't specced into prototype HMG and I can't use a boundless, so why let a random that isn't on Lv 5 Hybrid Turret run around shooting people in my proto turrets?
I understand having your vehicles hacked and stolen, that's the pilot's fault. But when you are trying to rep your vehicle/assist your team, you shouldn't have to worry about it being stolen. |

I hate those 15 sec waiting for my tank in the beginning of each battle. God, I fear to get shot by a sniper or run over by a lav. Yet, it never happened, nobody ever stole my tank and yeah ... no need for new things, especially not locking modules - got no place for them. |

Lucky you then. There have been times that it gave a random the option to enter the tank before me at the RDV drop and I've lost a tank that way. The point is to put something in the game that should have been there to start with. If this was like battlefield and the vehicles an modules were free and kept spawning all of the time for people to use I wouldn't be suggesting this feature. |

A very simple way to solve this would be to implement a "lock vehicle" feature similar to how the "flip vehicle", "enter vehicle", and "recall vehicle" work. Simply add a "lock vehicle" option assigned to the triangle button when approaching your vehicle.
The option to lock would only be available to the vehicle owner. (Player who originally qued or hacked the vehicle)
You would still be able to hack a locked enemy vehicle. Vehicle would become unlocked after it has been hacked.
The option to lock vehicle would only be available for 15 seconds after exiting a vehicle.
Once a vehicle is locked no one can enter the vehicle or switch seats, however a player may still exit the vehicle.
Once a vehicle is locked it would no longer explode if left unattended. This way a player may still return to the vehicle after completion of a particularly lengthy engagement.
As a side note implementation of this would also provide the basis for the removal of the free LAV, thereby alleviating some of the LAV spam murder taxiing, as players would be more willing to spec into a vehicle knowing they could prevent it from being stolen or destroyed by artificial means (unattended vehicle destruction). |

Locked vehicles could still take damage from AV weapons.

This works too. But having another action to do feels uneccessary. |

just change the part "The option to lock vehicle would only be available for 15 seconds after exiting a vehicle." to you can only unlock the vehicle 15 seconds after exiting and its perfect . |

I think a squad lock would be a simple option to implement. It would promote squad play and if you just want to run solo you can create and lock a one-man squad. |

I like this, as often time I will play with someone in a LAV and we will drive from objective to objective hacking things while I sit in the turret in my fat suit and gun people down.
Sometimes the driver will die while hacking and I need to hop in and drive somewhere to pick him back up. The "Squad lock" makes the most sense in my opinion. |
