turrets have been shoved off the side of the great canyon recently on the vehicle end of things and I wanted to talk some issues, small imbalances and large, and things that would need to happen in the event of more turrets arriving. oh and turret requests
small Compressed blaster turrets are 3.0 less damage then scattered blasters, as the damage turret that has its loss in RoF is has a very large difference in its DPS compared tot he scattered, true enough the scatters is costly to the wallet the compressed need a buff of 3.0 in all 3 of its variants, it having a lower RoF won`t make it OP for its cost and requirements but won`t be the one small blaster that no 1 even uses. (I didn`t get the chance to check out L turrets but the same feedback applies if imbalanced like its brethren)
small railguns are the AV turrets yet small missile turrets, FGs and every AV and non AV weapons mama does better DD, its not rocket science (not saying your dumb CCP), its RoF is mila seconds faster, missiles don`t over heat, so its DPS over 10 seconds is way less, and that's if you hit, there's very little BR and SD on railguns while the missiles have that, its hard to aim on a ADS but that's a different issue. what needs to be done is obvious, super buff its DD, 400 DD - 600 DD on the turrets from their current position. That will mean its a potential AV weapon without rising issues elsewhere. The only thing I can think of why this hasn`t happened yet is the LAAs or if there is some AT-ST LAV thing that has double turrets and small railguns being devastating on it but considering its range and 2x fire power, other rail weapons do better, some by 1k-2k DD comparing it to same meta and AV role, beside, how would it be worse then 2x missile turrets?
when projectile turrets arrive along with lazer and the unknown turrets, there will be a ton of damage mods inside of the turret upgrades skill, the 2nd issue is current, you can`t specialize into your turrets like you can a weapon (this is noticeable in a specialized weapon role with FG and railguns doing what they do best, the FG can go beyond its item/damage bonus skill, up to reload speed, MAG size, RoF). the salutation is bring back turret proficiency, (turret damage mod items) STD @ lv1, ADV @ LV3 PRO @ LV5 and +1% damage per lv, 3x skill small turrets, 5x skill large turrets to match their prior skills (operation), so if you fully spec you got those turret sizes damage mods, it increases turret damage mods item inventory to range across the STD-PRO ranges and it would get drivers/ pilots +10% damage to that turret (exclusively for those who don`t know) from skills, nothing huge their but as a passive specialization bonus its deserved. This brings 1 issue though, the turret upgrades skill would also need a larger investory since atm it goes from STD-ADV, it will need its PRO added + its 2nd ADV per item type, if not that, cheapen the skill till item inventory is added upon.
missile turret variant request: add a variant to missile that locks onto vehicles (exclusively) to both small and large sizes, STD-PRO. 1 way to have a balance to A2A is keep its speed but don`t have a large DD and reduce its collision "push" when hit so DS don`t fly at super sonic speeds into the environment, option to is have a slower speed to its counter parts but same damage.
Gallente turret request: Plasma thrower: balance wise it won`t shoot flames everywhere, it would have a tube of plasma (appearence from distance) that looks more flamethrower close up, but a BR of 3ish (thinking of missile BR) 1 issue I see is rendering.
Gallante turret request: Plasma Launcher (I would go with Cannon but for some reason cannon was for the infantry's name....) Gallante has only 1 weapon atm and its anti trooper so a AV or a turret that is multi purpose needs to be added, so a turret variant of the plasma cannon would fit since the plasma cannon is a multi role weapon. balance wise the Plasma cannon needs a buff but in addition, small turrets are equal of heavy weapons and the plasma cannon is a light weapon so: make a good splash damage and decent direct damage with a missile turret BR (note it does more DD/SD then missile turrets) so its devastating to troopers and good against vehicles but with a huge bane to it, its charge up fire, then recharge up to fire, so the railguns and FGs have charge then its auto matic but the plasma launcher is charge fire then recharge, this is a very huge slow RoF but it doesn`t overheat.
Mimimatar gauntlet gun: the Minimatar will have a artillery which I assume to be a huge MD, as well as a cannon which is anti armor railgun that has no charge to fire / over heat but slower RoF, but I would like to see a giant HMG, good range, decent damage like the blasters no over heating and longer range but at the cost of a very wide bullet spread, yes this I hope to be more of an anti air Afghanistan stile tank.
