Commando suit seems like an interesting sniper config, at least it has potential - Sniper/Swarm launcher combo would be useful.

I run a scout/sniper setup, Sniper/SMG - shields and Kinetics. I really wish precision modules worked better or that the active scanner was an item that could be dropped which actively scans at all times.

I'm definitely considering it myself. I think that is the nature of the commando suit, to be more ranged/support rather than CQC.

I like most of the fits I've read in here, most of these are the types that sit in the red line and I one shot them.

indeed, get your core skills sorted first, 3 cpu enhancers is really idiotic.

so far the only fit i've seen posted here that I found viable is the heavy sniper, and he's right with that degree of hp it's quite hard to bring them down in a single shot.


my general style of sniping is between his and the standard scout sniper...of course I also ground snipe, and front line snipe. I generally don't snipe like any other sniper who has posted in here.

1) anyone using profile dampeners does not understand how they actually work in this game.

I have 2 sniper fits. I am completely outclassed due to the changes in game-wide changes to HP, having damage mods went from being very dangerous on the battlefield to being completely necessary. As a Scout I cannot kill people like the Caldari assault/logi or Gallente medium frame can.

The guy who posted stats forgot to take in Sniper Rifle Proficiency into account.

Then the 195% of a head shot gets you a total of 667.26 damage. . . How many Caldari proto suits do you know that have more HP than that? How many Gallente Logistics suits? how many heavy/sentinels? Pretty much all of them. there were 700HP Caldari Assault guys running around on May 6th.

Charged Sniper Rifle can dish out 945 with a head-shot and 5 damage mods. . . I regularly play with 2 logi's that can survive that. The Thale's TAR-07 Sniper Rifle can hit 1044 max damage. A Gallente Logi can tank that shot (at the cost of -15% movement penalty)

I, being a scout with a single Hi-Slot can deal 515.56 (Ishukone), 791 (charged), and 865 (Thale's). I need at least 2 head-shots to kill, 1 head and 2 body-shots, or 3-4 body shots to kill the regular people on the ground using prototype gear...
Snipers are for Kill Assists and Kill Stealing because unless the guy you are shooting at hasn't been playing the game long, he'll move away from where you hit him to find cover. Or he'll dance around till he heals and soak another shot and be fine.

After saying people don't understand how profile dampening works, here is the exception: with a signature radius of 22 I can run up behind every scanner but 1, and if found I can run away faster than they can.




hehe. To me, "Red line sniping" is when you snipe people before they can leave their redline >:)
