When I snipe I normally use a advanced minmatar logi with the following modules:
- 3 complex damage mods - 3 enhanced dampners - remotes - ammo - uplink.
Almost any gun can be fitted when you remove the remotes.
The remotes are there to blow up any remotes I have placed before as a scout or logi and after that to put on choke points or stairs.
With a proto you can add a complex shield extender and some armor. |

I run my minmatar scout as a shotty with remotes. I hardly snipe, it is just a fit I use when I need to countersnipe. |

I like to run around with knives/smg when I'm not sniping. Clearing out a point and securing the hack while taking out any re-spawns is fun. What I lament the most is the lack of a second equipment slot; not that I could afford the CPU/PG. Although, I am rather silly and typically run without shields/armor. I figure that any one who is going to counter-snipe me or find me unawares is going to probably win, unless I see them first.
Yeah, I would really like a second equipment on my scout too so I can use remotes and an uplink.
Without extra shields or armor you will be a one shot kill I think. |

More often than not, with shields, I am still a one shot for someone rocking proto snipers. I can survive fights well enough, even some sniper shots from weaker weapons, but 99% of my survival relies on out-flanking, out-strafing and hopefully out-thinking and gunning my opponent. I'm doing it wrong if they've come close enough to kill me. It's extremely satisfying to be able to out-flank a guy who was just coming at me and head shot him.
charge snipers always one-shot me, for me the most satisfying kill is actually a fellow scout I kill after several seconds of dancing around eachother. Also killing four or five people with a remote is nice |

You're wasting sooo many low slots. To those of you stacking 5 complex damage mods: really? the extra 2.8% and 1% damage increase is worth it for the respective 4th and 5th modules? Time to take a good look at the opportunity costs here....
EDIT: keep doing what you're doing, you're making it easier for me to collect those tears of yours
indeed, get your core skills sorted first, 3 cpu enhancers is really idiotic.

EDIT: keep doing what you're doing, you're making it easier for me to collect those tears of yours To stack Complex Mods, PRO Weapons, PRO Equipment, I'm not running a Logistics. I remove the CPU upgrades if I can fit something else instead, but last I checked my PRO Medium still needs them, there's nothing else to fit in to Low Slots as a Sniper anyway, Armor is useless, KinCats is a different class of sniper, so what else am I meant to fit?
Maybe one complex cpu and dampners. but how far have you levelled up your core skills? |

Sniper fitting is the only fit I'm running my CPU upgrades on, even at that they're basic (MLT even, I can't remember) and Dampeners are completely useless and broken, core skills are all sitting at 3 and 4 right now.
sorry you already answered, mine are 4,5,5 currently saving SP for combat engineering 5 so it will be 5,5,5. No more fitting issues :) |

Ground sniping can be a lot of fun. I typically try to put myself close to the enemy and if I have to, I'll drop to the ground for some kills. It really depends how the flow of the battle is going. If I find a sweet spot that I can just pick off redberries, that's the best spot. Sometimes, I don't even go for kills. Watching redberries panic when they're hit by pot shots is amusing as well as disruptive to their fighting.
Object denial and giving intel are very important parts of the sniper role. |
