Some players don't care for EVE lore, and aren't interested, and for those people, you don't need a reason beyond "it suits how I play" to use something.
For someone who says THIS, however:
Makyre Vahliha wrote:Please don't tell me, "You can play whatever suits you want" or "Be all you can be. Army." Pretty sure that's a good clue about the attitude being taken here.
Amarr culture is very much an institutionalised superiority complex. Minmatar society is all about making the best use of anything they can get their hands on. Traditionally, Amarr have taken Minmatar as slaves, and the current Minmatar race is directly at war with the Amarr because of it.
If you want to be a loyal Amarr-serving Minmatar, you need to be willing to accept a subservient role. If you just want a lore-accepted reason to run Amarr gear, it's reasonable to consider it stolen goods (whether by your character or someone else who sold it on). And as with any civilisation, individuals have their own ideas, so you could just take a perverse form of enjoyment from wearing the armour of your former slavers, or you might love their sense of style and not really care so much about the history behind it. |

It wouldn't be appropriate to use those weapons as a LOYAL Amarrian, but that doesn't mean you can't do it. |

Lasers, including Scramblers (which are Laser-based weapons), and they talk a lot about "cleansing fire"... so when there's a Flamethrower or incendiary grenade, that will probably be made by Amarr.
They aren't against explosions in general. Just the ones produced by their former slaves. |

Celeste Cyra wrote:I tried using the laser rifle and scrambler rifle and they're just horrible for me. I can sort of work with the scrabler rifle but the charged/weak shooting system is strange. I feel like a short range sniper with bb gun back up if it doesn't work lol. I'm not good with the Scrambler either, but I've been told aiming for headshots is helpful. Scrambler Pistols have a 450% modifier on headshots. I'm pretty sure the Rifle's modifier isn't that high, but I'm told it's still good. Try that sometime. |
