i hate the swarm, I hate the fact that it has to lock on, many times iv been shot up by a bunch of reds only to think, if this thing had a secondary line of sight fire mode, pink mist all round !!!
so on to my question. what is the best all rounder to take on troops and armour ? whats worth throwing sp and isk at ? in your personal opinion. |

forge doesn't give you enough flexibility; you can't use it on any other suit besides heavy. I would go AV nades since you get the other 2 types of nades along the way... |

My suggestion would be forge and AV grenades both. My favorite tank/LAV/dropship (and infantry if they just want to stand there while I hipfire them in the facial region) busting fit. |

Forge and getting to high ground is the easiest mode right now. Especially if you have core flaylock to kill anyone who comes up near you. I personally use scrambler instead, usually high ground movement is at a good range with predictable flat movement to allow some easy scrambler pistol headshots.
Either way, if you want to kill vehicles, go find a nice rock or roof and murder everything with forge. Best part is, once youve killed the vehicles and scared them from coming back (they wont be coming back) you can still murder every infantry ever with the splash.

I run locus nades on my forge suit. Very rarely find the need for throwing AV's, the forge gun is usually more than enough to handle what I need handled. Plus the time it takes to toss a grenade and re-equip a weapon is about the same time as a reload.
Locus grenades will give your suit more flexibility when dealing with infantry. Forge splash feet, finish with grenade or sidearm.

You can but you need to work at it a bit to consistently get directs on mediums. Lights get killed by the splash from one shot when running two Complex Damage Mods so in most terrain it's not so bad.
Can't rambo with it but it's a potent weapon to bring to a firefight when running with allies. It calls for a more measured approach, alternating between used as a marksman weapon or a tool for bombardment.
It's range also equates into flexibility... I'd say it can do more than most weapons actually, not less. It just can't engage in the same fashion that most other weapons do in CQC. Using it that way is wrong. Don't use it that way, play it to it's many other strengths. You can even still use it in CQC to great effect so long as you don't go it alone and play smart with a steady aim.
Y'also still have a sidearm. Scrambler Pistol or SMG are great weapons in their own right. |

IF you can use it right, the plasma cannon can be decent. Problem is that you need to be close if you want a hope of hitting, or master that arc and travel time. |

my favorite AV fit is submachine gun flux grenades and adv swarm thats on a bpo caldari std with two enhanced light damage mods a std repper a cpu chip and nanohives its effective against both infantry and vehicles the most important part to this fit is the flux grenades

Light Dropsuit w/ Swarms & AV nades for some mobility tank busting fun. I was going to spec that way completely until I discovered the joys of the Nova Knife. Now I just use AV nades when i'm mad at the LAV spam. |

Any primary weapon and secondary combined with AV grenades gives you the flexibility of both.
Flaylock does have some anti-armor capabilities though despite being a sidearm.
Forge gun is a very useful medium to long range hipfire sniper cannon, just takes a bit of practice and leading/anticipating your target. If you can get high ground and proficient at shooting the ground, you can make use of shooting the floor for aoe damage. |
