Once ccp figures it all out and way to do thing the proper way and somewhat please he majority of their players their should be no respec. Their is what 9 years left of this game? Why not have some type of respec every month or a way to untrain a skill per level for the next 6 months to a year. I think it would help alot with ccp trying to balance this game. The ability to change specs would help reveal balance issues MUCH faster.. without a doubt.
but does it really matter when they don't release balance changes for 2-3 months anyways?
btw its not really FOTM... cause these balance issues are around for a lot longer than a month.

Bring the hate. I have my helmet ready. Somewhat agree.
With any content pertaining to the "CORE" or what should have been in dust, there are bound of be things people wanted to have but couldn't, should have had but didn't.
E.G- Heavies. If they get no respect and the other heavy suits are clearly better than the amarr one some players are going to be soooooo pissed off.
I don't support constant respeccing only respecting of content that should have been in the released game.
AKA- Dropsuits of each of the four primary types, racial weapons, and racial vehicles.
Anything beyond that is what I would deem expansion content and therefore not deserving of a respec. |

I'm curious how MCC camping even matters. So you're saying that's not the right way to play the game? I thought the point was to get SP. How about HTFU and Welcome to Eden.
Players chase "FOTM", as some like to refer to it because they want to win primarily but also in part because they're punished otherwise for trying anything else. While it does require little time to get to standard level gear, standard barely cuts it for most against the sea of Prototype geared players. The punishment might not be understand by some with an idea "that no SP is wasted", and a player can always grind more. However not everyone plays Dust strictly for the grind, and their fun is quickly diminished after dying over and over.
I begin to wonder if it's not something along the lines of players wanting to "win" their way which fuels a portion of the anti-respec sentiment. Preserving through cycles of OP weapons and set ups, while making sure to avoid using them and even at times chastising players for using the current cream of crop, then waiting until they're nerfed and gleaming some sense of accomplishment. That ideal might very well be a drive force for some of the respec opposition. I'm curious though to see if Dust can sustain losing players over it. |

I don't care if it's clear or not. The vets of this game, the ones who break it down to the numbers of every single weapon, dropsuit, and piece of equipment know that this game is broken and exactly in which ways it is broken. We point these things out and give the most logical ideas, but 'special cases' like you who would blindly defend CCP before thinking for yourselves, go and ruin everything.
I don't hate noobs. In fact, some of them have amazing ideas, but you and your buddies have no clue. At all. This whole 'no respecs' ideology will make Dust stale. NOBODY wants to play the same exact way for months on end, let alone YEARs. Eventually, CCP will have to get in when people leave for Destiny because they can do more than run around with an assault rifle that they don't even like, but have no other option because it would take 2 months to spec into something else good. |

I'm willing to bet that you AFk because this game sucks in its current state and you want to use another weapon, but can't because it takes like 2 months to do so. Bamsis. Another reason why we should get monthly respecs. WHEN PEOPLE ENJOY THE GAME, THEY DON'T AFK IN THE MCC. That simple. People enjoy a game when they don't have a boring or UP weapon.

Maken Tosch is an interesting case in regards to respecs. They've vowed to not only quit Dust, but also cancel their Eve Online account of 10 years if CCP ever puts a respec mechanic into Dust. Either that or they're going to start more Burn Jita style riots in Eve Online. |

The sad thing the best times of this game was when it was in close beta when the limit of the cap wasn't there, sure the cap some what pro longs the game an helps funds it via boosters but when i see the up coming fps how many would rather play a game that could offer the same if not better then dust at the cost of less hours of your life with out just skill point counting to do some thing.
as in terms weapons of the month you don't think ccp would of learn via the other slap people weapons like how the mass driver an missile tank was before they nerf it now they add a pistol that does more then both? now if flay lock had more like 50 to 75 splash damage which that it should only be in all fairness which would force people to aim at the players more then just at the feet of them an you wouldn't have full teams using nothing but duel flay locks, also the direct damage is fine as is on the flay lock.
An ya I said slap people weapons cause you might as well seeing as they keep slaping people with some of these weapons they toss out there lol I wouldn't doubt they get abit of a kick out of it when they first came up weapons like the flay lock to see how many people they could in rage with each up date.
But you gotta look at it this way for the most part they never really going to win cause 1 change will always make 1 person mad an the other happy. |

Bring the hate. I have my helmet ready. Look, there isn't any way this doesn't turn into FOTM fits becoming the standard at all times, and people flipping their **** when something gets nerfed, only to just switch to a new FOTM and have everyone follow them.
I'm with that other guy that said you do a Triple-SP weekend for every content release. If they mix that with the new rollover system for SP that they're replacing the cap with, you can buy a 3-day booster and roll in a shitload of SP to drop on a new asset, while keeping all the current specializations you have.
Honestly, I'd also like to see a 50% bonus to base SP gain across the board. |

Can we get a respec QQ sticky so that we can have one thread to discuss this issue once instead of both sides having to repeat everything 30 times and more?
There's not a single a good argument, bad argument, or ad hominem remark from either side in this thread side that i haven't heard before. All it takes to get a good overview over the state of the debate is just one klick on the search button.
We are not going anywhere with this argument as long as people keep spamming new threads every other day, throwing every little part of consensus, every bit of sound reasoning and every single piece of insight into this hugely complex issue into the intellectual bin of these forums, namely "page 2-n".
Use the search function, read, join one of the existing threads and contribute to the ongoing discussion instead of resetting it yet again. |

no respecs at all, anymore
this means that flavor of the month is going to get to be less of an issue now since if something is out of balance it might be fixed before everyone and their brother jumps on it because all it takes as swapping out the old flavor of the month, like happened with uprising respecs from petitions
it also makes you care about spending sp on a character not solely min max cause it doesn't matter |

O comon guys it couldn't hurt to have 1 last respec when the next update comes, or maybe make it so only the people with scout LAV and dropships will get it since those are the 2 things that are so broken.
