Punish tanks when they decide no to move Yes, since there is no such weapon today. It should make the plasma cannon unique and give it a tactical specialization for taking out tanks at close range. However, maybe the metal of the target hit by the plasma projectile should start melting causing damage over time. A ground target AOE is not that great, now that I have thought about it: You can just ride away from it and not take any damage.
They could but what if they don't notice at first? Could also act as anti-infantry by giving as obstacle in chokepoints |

Could be together. Like when the plasma contacts a surface it coats the surface with it and causes DoT. Like hit a group of enemies and they all get coated in the splash radius and take DoT definitely making the one shot per load less of a disadvantage |

But we gotta ask ourselves. Is this DoT effect right to be paired with the Plasma Cannon or should that be a new weapon.?Cause then should the Plasma Cannon just have initial detonation damage, DoT coating utility like acid., contain both damage abilities, or create a new weapon to have DoT and improve upon the scaling of the Plasma Cannon. |

The area denial DOT weapon could be something else.
I know, but honestly the Plasma Cannon just needs some extra love to make the overall weapon class better. Like without the speculation on new effects I think:
-Adv and Proto scaling needs to be adjusted so you aren't paying 46k more for a lil over 100 damage. -Perhaps like breach variants being greatly higher power but longer charge up -A variant with like 3 shots per clip that when charged all 3 shots come out in a burst each having a lowered payload equaling about a bit over the standard in damage. You just have room for error to miss all 3 shots. -A lowered direct damage but greater splash damage variant |
