Because their is no way in hell you can compete in their with out it. It's frankly shocking that ccp thinks that's ok it's so un EvE it's unreal. In eve you choose your own level of risk. In Dust514 you chose which came mode your going to get clan stacked or proto stomped.
And don't say HTFU because in this case it's ******** argument. The game has fundamitly broken here and it's extra bad this week because of event. Normal players don't have a chance |

CCP should make all suits have the same amount of slots but limit them in CPU and PG, this will reduce the gap between proto and basic but still keep basic being a better suit.

Coming into Dust was easier back in early 2013 because nobody had black suits at the time.
On the flip side, you can get advanced suits with proto weapons and modules for like 4 mil SP, so it doesnt take very long. |

I've honestly been wondering what the game would be like if you removed everything but standard gear but buffed the PG/CPU of the suits while also lowering module/equipment/weapon requirements. I mean if infantry were brought more in line with vehicles were everything is effectively the same tier, things could either be interesting or utterly terrible. |

Starting up the bottom you gotta pick up the scraps.
Best done with a laser rifle and flux grenades, take what you can assists KS, laser fatties(the only character lasers work on). not many people worry about taking laser riflers out, they are seen as more of a cuddly puppy than a pitbul with aids |

i'm curious....what part of "we're working on match making to solve this exact issue" seems like they think it's fine? |

Allow me to point this one out for you guys worried they won't fix this issue..

There are also things that are not high level roadmap stuff that we'll be working on. Stuff like the addition of snow in Uprising 1.2 is a good example of this. For example, we have some other graphical improvements coming in 1.3, such as some changes to sites and scopes to improve visibility in certain environments, which are not "Roadmap" items but are still important fixes nonetheless. We don't have set-in-stone dates for when certain things are coming. It's also not really possible to share the nitty gritty details of each roadmap item at the moment, for a variety of reasons. |

I see proto gear in Skirmish too, but it's not as much as I see in lolAmbush.

I've had this game for 20 or so days and when I see squaded-up elites rockin' protos and the like, I jump in a free suit, drop hives and uplinks and wait for the carnage. All those respawns in those horrible horrible massacres are paying for my eventual proto gear acquisition.
I really admire the coordination that a lot of these folks have, Seemingly everywhere at once, spread out but with fire focused on single targets; it inspires awe.
All the while: team respawn +25, team respawn +25, team respawn +25, team respawn +25, team respawn +25. . . |

For the matchmaking I will belive it when I see it lol. Just frustrated post really think there needs to be gear lock outs based on game type. Mirroring how eve does it |

a good way of matchmaking would be to assign a level to SP amounts, then giving matches a level amount max. say 10+million SP was level 5, max total in match is 50 level points per side. one side might only have 10 players, who are all level 5, other could have 16. if that makes sense. |

large corps roll lots of quick ambush matches to make large sums of isk very quickly. or whatever reason, these corp squads never need to face one another, it's always corp squad vs randoms i chalk this up to a failure in the matchmaking system |

I roll with my Alliance a lot and unfortunately, it ends in a lot of pub stomps. Don't get me wrong, I love being a masshole and armor tank in ambush vs 16 blueberries as much as the next guy, but it gets old, which is why I love PC battles. Challenge is fun. |

From what I can tell.. matchmaking won't solve this issue at all. It will help with the one-sided matches we all deal with, but in terms of proto vs. std gear, I don't think matchmaking is going to put guys with high sp in their own games and guys with low SP in their own games... what its going to do is even out the teams so you don't see 3 squads on one side and all npc corps on the other.
So on an individual basis... guys without proto gear will still be facing guys with proto gear. |

I usually don't play ambushes but played them exclusively after capping to take advantage of the 3x SP event. I'm hoping that the influx of Proto in ambush seen during this period was also due to proto players wanting to make their 1000/1500 SP in very quick games with minimal effort (just reaching 334 WP). |

I've made two threads about this in feedback section. I think its a great idea. Helps with scaling forward into new tiers too.
Could you imagine having officer cal logi with 7 highs and 5 lows? Or going into null sec with a deadspace cal logi with 11 highs and 7 lows? At some point it seems rather absurd... |

That rule came in when they reduced the price of almost everything, and then converted the months worth of salvage of beta players into pure isk. Giving most of them several hundred million isk, which is more than can be realistically spent on anything outside of PC. |

That's fine if it was mixed up but at thr moment matchescan end up newb vs vets and this has been an issue since closed beta and is not really very good that it's dragged on so long |
