I think they should raise the 1000 SP cap once you reach weekly cap. I also think the SP you get after cap shouldn't be tied to WP or K/D.
Any ideas? |

Until they give us a ISK destroyed/ISK lost ratio, we don't have anything to base SP off of other than WP or K/DR. |

Any ideas? Sounds like an AFKer's wet dream. I actually don't care about AFKers in general, just pointing out that not having the soft cap tied to SP means there is no reason to stop doing it during the week. |

Just get rid of the soft cap at 1000 SP and make it so WP = SP even if you exceed 1000 WP. |

Currently the SP system rewards you for time spent in the game, not time played. Personally SP should be capped by the amount you can earn per battle, up to 20K, and multiplied by WP x 100. Thus 2000 war points nets 20K SP. This would reward people who play the game well and often, and punish MCC afkers because they will get no points.

Then, to counterbalance the loss of sense of progression, make ISK the factor that we must take into consideration when 'unlocking' new gear. Make advanced -> prototype gear extremely expensive, to the point PC is the only way to run protogear for a full game and still make profit.
Lower public match ISK acquisition but change it so it more accurately reflects the amount of effort placed by a player in the game. (Gear lost/Gear destroyed ratios, Hacks/Kills ratios, Triage and Kill Assist/Kill ratios, etc.)
Threads like this, discussing the cap, discussing the newbie-vet SP gap, discussing SP reallocations, discussing SP reimbursements, SP refunds, SP refunds for new content, SP refunds for Aurum, SP refunds yearly, SP refunds every decade, P2W due to boosters, P2W due to getting gear without the skills,
all these threads will never cease with the current SP system. Too much importance is placed in it for an FPS. Not to mention the fact that we are MERCENARIES.
Personally, ISK should be the main problem I have in my Dust 514 career. I should be struggling daily over how to manage it, I should be trying to scam people for ISK (which I don't do because I'm rolling in it even though I pilot dropships occasionally) and I should be ruthless when it comes to staying alive and preserving clones and earning WP BECAUSE it earns me ISK, not SP. |

Vys, awesome post, and as a newb, i'm starting to watch my isk. Yet I'm still gonna cry BS for cap. I've played dozens of online games, spent thousands on them, have thousands more to spend, and yet sp cap'd? wtf? I'm all about paying ingame for free-to-play games to get better gear, yet find out 7day active augs only hinder me in my play... What kinda psychology is this? I mean, really, if I have 300 hrs per week to play, decide to use an aug, and get cap'd after paying? That's supposed to keep me buying? Might as well pay someone else while I wait for weekly cap to pass... ns |
