The problem is not that some playes run all proto in pub ambushes, the problem is the small playerbase and matchmaking. Is it great when you have a squad on each side running proto to even out the match, but it often happens that the matchmaking is unable to find an equal strong squad to match with the other proto squad. I have stopped getting mad at this and instead decided to only run miltia or standard suits in pubs even though I have 12mill SP and 200mill isk. Have great fun trying to at least get a few proto kills, I will loose no isk and it is a great challenge that I enjoy robbing the proto players of some of their isk. And in return I am helping them to improve their kill death ratio, a win win situation :)

Meh Flay locks are pretty powerful guns, but not the be all end of gameplay, shame of those who spam them for lack of reason other than to be a part of the trend, props to those who truly kick ass with them, but my trusty scrambler rifle takes on all comers and oft times wins. Also the only real reason Id' take issue with a Flaylock is because armour tanking sucks and explosives have no real downsides to the players that use them.

I don't see many of them though - but I do see a lot of tryhards in proto gear, proto weapons and OP Cal Logi suits with no EQ slots filled. Is that what you mean?

Therefore going all militia is actually great fun as I have accepted that I will never have a high kill death ratio

When you see a red dot you need to point at them & press R1 at them then you might not die so much. There is nothing wrong with the game & people like you are detrimental to it's success by always questiong what the great, almighty CCP are trying to create here.

Here is where your argument falls apart, on a totally even playing field a player that truly is "stronger" than another will still come out on top Right now the field is far from even or even competitively balanced so certain builds and even just using a full proto kit in general are a crutch

FWIW- I want to realyl just use a shotty and knivees. both have horrid hit detection as of late, and flaylock it is! Also, it's a minmatar weapon that fits nicely with the minja scout. The low PG and CPU (with sidearm op lv 5) makes it one of the few weapons that doesn't break the dropsuit bank. It also reclaims a bit of edge we lost with the speed/endurance nerf.

I am not going to run anything better until my skills improve.
