Instead of something that overheats, I think it would be cool if it was something that constantly does feedback damage while firing but does massive damage. This would be better than yet another overheating weapon since most people who use such weapons are pretty good at avoiding overheating and thus the feedback damage bonus is again useless. |

If they had a laser version of the HMG, fixed armor tanking and did this:

My life would be filled with sunshine. I would have the Dust514 version of my abbadon. Wander around at a snail's pace... destroying everything with no concern for how much ammo (or lack thereof) I'm wasting. |

That's what I initially had in mind to make use of the Sentinel's bonus. Every shot is feedback damage, so you can choose how much of yourself you want to off while using it which would make the Amarr heavy uniquely suited for such a weapon. Also, it would make armor tanking and repping more useful too. |

Me wants a souped up version of the laser rifle.. Massive sustained laser for use as AV. Kind of like that protoss ship from Starcraft 2 that does more damage the longer it's on target. Our simply the longer it is being fired whatever. As long as it's epic looking. |

Hopefully its something straight forward, it seems a bit unfair to me that half the amarrian weapons blow up in your face or require you to be a certain distance from your target to do dmg.
For the most advanced faction in New Eden they really seem to go out of their way to make life harder for themselves. |

I'm fine with the overheating if the weapons are stronger than non-overheating versions. And that is pretty much the case so far. |

That is kind of an anti-tank only weapon as you won't be holding that beam on a LAV or dropship too long unless the driver is crap. I think the forge gun already is good enough at that role.
I would rather see it work like a HMG but have it fully accurate from the start. Increase the range a bit but have it so it decreases in damage the farther out your target is. Much less damage than a focused HMG at mid range, but more damage than an unfocused one.

The shotgun variations will be cool. I envisage the amarr ones being like blast pulses, firing a clump of very high power energy a short distance to do extreme damage to shields. |

Looks like an obviously Gallente thing to me. Amarr stuff isn't green, or have stuff like those little holes on the barrel, and that isn't nearly ornate enough. Also looks nothing like a shotgun, look at the magazine, the barrel length, the high powered scope; clearly some kind of rifle. The Gallente heavy weapon. This reminds me of before Uprising and some people saw the flaylock pistol concept art and somehow thought it was Caldari despite the obvious visual style and color differences.

Also looks nothing like a shotgun, look at the magazine, the barrel length, the high powered scope; clearly some kind of rifle. The Gallente heavy weapon. CCP refered to the current AR as the LAR (light assault rifle) before, which implies there is a heavy one, this is likely it. Gallente are also missing a heavy weapon. Regarding what I think is the laser, fits the visual style and coloring of the Amarr vehicles http://i.imgur.com/xSxlftZ.png and Caldari stuff is usually blue. This reminds me of before Uprising and some people saw the flaylock pistol concept art and somehow thought it was Caldari despite the obvious visual style and color differences. That is definitely not a heavy weapon. I'm still betting it's a shotgun, and if so it would have to be Amarr since the Gallente shotgun is already in the game. As to it not looking exactly like a shotgun, neither does the Gallente shotgun.

Now that I think of it, this might just be some super laser cannon thing. If that's the case, I foresee massive overheating or feedback damage per shot, which would make the Sentinel Bonus much more useful.
Imagine the 40k Lascannon, single shot burst, immense damage over long range, poorer damage up close, punches through shields but suffers majorly against armour, issues with overheating being enough to kill the user. |

But anyway
The Amarr heavy weapon, I think will be some kind of cannon that fires pulses like an heavy Scrambler rifle, or maybe, a Laser Gatling gun from Fallout 3 |

Me too, but the insufferable waiting annoys me, I want to out ny hand on that gun the sooner as possible. D:
And that one will definitely become my sidearm of choice. If the Minmattar SMG is highly effective if used correctly, imagine a plasma SMG, with a little higher damage, decent RoF and a range that I'm already accustomed to. |

Laser cannon: Charge up like a FG, then unleash a sustained burst of laser fire. Assault variant fires without charging, but does constant & growing feedback damage.
Gatling Scrambler: This could be to the assault HMG what the Scambler rifle is to the TAC. |
