There is only one way to make a correct balance for match making.
You take up the total SP for every member in the squad. Then you match that squad up with another squad that is within some range, plus or minus, of that squad.
Example: -Player 1: 15m SP -Player 2-6: all 1m SP = 5m SP
Squad: 20m SP. This squad will be matched with other squads that are near 20m sp.
A squad where all 6 members have 15m SP will obviously not be matched with this squad as they wll be at (6*15m = 90m SP).
And players that are running solo will be put in matches where their total squad sp will match other squad's or other solo players. So a player with 20m SP will be playing against full squads that are around 20m sp.
This seriously is the easiest way to get a stable matchmaking scenario going on. No need for ******** academy levels, no need for players to cry about proto gear. Just put each squad in a pool and pull out the groups that fit together and make them fight each other. Yes match making may take an extra minute or two but each battle will be balanced all around.
Anyway, that's just my idea of a good match making scenario. It's simple to program... |

ZDub 303 wrote:As a final measure... it may be worth looking at limited the number of players that can queue together for a game mode... say limiting to 3 for IB, 6 for 'standard' FW matches, and potentially introducing a 'team queue' FW system with very high rewards for those who want to field a full team of 16. This encourages grouping together for FW battles, and keeps solo queueing to IB. However, you can still play with a friend or two in IB... cause some of us do have friends we would like to play with .
The team queue of 16 is the only thing you said that I actually cared about. Everything else was rubbish. |

You're an idiot who has no idea how people are in this game. yes everyone got rich when uprising hit. But, as things usually go, those players lost a lot of money from using proto gear. Most people know (including myself) use basic/advanced fits about 85% of the time when we play pub matches.
Proto gear at 200+k a suit and getting run over or militia locust grenaded is just ridiculous. Plus You only need to use a proto gun with blueprint suits to pub stomp. Hell, my favorite/main suit is a sever with all militia gear and an EC3 mass driver. Cost me 15k isk. I can die 10 times and still make profit on a match.
My point is, people don't always wear proto gear. You just need to learn to play, get better at the game. Then you can pub stomp with noob gear and laugh at those who still use proto gear to help them be successful. |
