As in, please remove the free starter onikuma.
Now that vehicle spawns are faster and more fluid to control, the LAV spam is becoming ridiculous. I was in a skirmish match today (three objectives map) and in pure honestly the opposing team did nothing but spam LAVs. On that 1 map, the opposing team had 2 tanks (no complaint there) and 3 onikumas just driving around and running over anyone. I went swarm launchers for the entirety of the game since the opposing team always spawned a new vehicle once one was destroyed. I also had AV grenades equipped but what can av grenades do when three cars are rushing you at the same time? Please either remove the free starter LAV (onikuma) OR make it so 1 av grenade/swarm destroys it. Dust514 is not frogger. |

The free LAVs are not that hard to deal with. I have an AV-fitted suit fitted with just militia level stuff that does the job just fine. |

Of course I would leave the skilled LAVs alone. I only want the free LAV gone or easier to be destroyed since its free. I am also not counting anything purchased with aur either. only the free starter onikuma. |

I couldn't agree with you more. I actually had this conversation with several people yesterday and I, and many others I spoke with, feel that you shouldn't be given any free vehicles and should have to spec into them to be able to use them. I could see maybe giving the speed bike everyone keeps talking about as a starter vehicle once it's out but for the short term ccp needs to realize nobody uses the vehicles the way they intended. Nobody is driving accross the map dropping their shotgun off and alpha and laying support fire with the turret while protecting and patrolling the area. Newbs and noobs alike are jumping in the baloch and murder taxis all by their lonesome and sending heavies and proto logis flying like rag dolls. Translation, it's imba and allows for people who have not even skilled in vehicle command or modules to simply pad stats and annoy people who work ten times harder at the game than they do. |

The reason is because small turrets are ****. Anyways, leave the real pilots out of this (you said nobody uses vehicles right). We did nothing wrong, and hate them as much, maybe even more than you guys.

Here's an idea. Learn to dodge the Mad Taxi Drivers. Don't sit out in the roads? Use your STARTER AV fit to destroy LAVs, earning 90 WPs per kill?
If anything, I'd like them to fix it to where my LAV doesn't pop a massive wheelie whenever I hit an enemy. I can understand bumps and minor changes to control, but right now, my Taxi Driver ends up losing all his momentum when he gets a Scout on the windshield.
Though the starter Baloch is far better. Armor LAV, spawns with a Blaster instead of a Missile Turret that does almost no damage and never hits where you intend it to go, even at a standstill.
Also, we're a lot more vulnerable driving LAVs, I've noticed. I've been getting headshots from SMGs and such at fair range, whilst moving. I like and hate this change. |

You've just ran someone over .. LAV have wheels and clone bodies have mass, you can't expect to run someone over and have your LAV act like its driving over flat ground and your vehicle should lose momentum when you hit someone and i think you should take damage equal to the shield/armour of the person you just ran over as well so if you run a heavy over you lose a huge chunk of shield/armour just as you would if you crashed into a wall at speed .. btw it scared the hell out of me yesterday when i ran someone over and my LAV did a wheelie ... it actually felt like i'd ran someone over so for me although it makes driving more awkward after running someone over its definitely more realistic and fairer
I hope they listen to my non vehicle game mode idea taking place in space stations then we'll see if you can actually use a gun |

+1. Remove free LAVs.
Vehicles should not be free. In addition to the points noted above, there is no sense of loss nor negative impact when your free vehicle gets destroyed (unless you are in it). Having free vehicles seems very contrary to the idea and premise of what DUST is supposed to be about. And having a vehicle destroyed has no negative impact to the team either (such as destroying a clone does).
Get these things out of here. If you don't want to walk skill into basic LAVs..... I don't mind blowing them up with my AV nades, or shotgunning their drivers while they are driving.... but still.
Free LAVS are lame... at least with starter suits you have some detremintal effect when you loose them (because you die, you spend time to respawn, your KDR decreases, your team clone count goes down, etc.....)

This would make running people over a lot more tacticle. No more; roadkill, roadkill, roadkill, turn, roadkill, oops some brought out AV's find group with less AV's. It would be more like; roadkill, roadkill, **** gotta repair or the next one takes me with it.

Additionally, running over a heavy in a free LAV should blow up the vehicle/severe damage and only do one third that to the heavy leaving the possibility of surviving.
remove free lav idea is crap but damage from running peeps over is reasonable. would stop the speed freaks that do nothing but drive and run folks over.

Here is what is wrong with this
1. The dude that is driving the free LAV still has access to all of his/her current gear (proto for example) 2. Having to Die, then switch to starter AV swarms in attempt to drop the LAV, in retaliation, the driver can pop out and shoot you with their current spec'd gear while you are wearing starter gear and defending yourself with a pistol VS their primary 3. Assuming you destroyed the vehicle in the process, said driver can simply call in another free LAV within 3 seconds vs your 10 second respawn 4. After respawn, said driver can be long gone. In this time, you have not been able to help your teammates capture/defend objectives since said driver is capturing/defending their's. What was your overall contribution to the team? 40 wp? 5. Yes, you can swarm from far away BUT in doing so you increase the chance of your team getting spawntrapped since they are missing 1 person in the action (while said driver is always in the action due to speed)
Im not even saying much either. Simply 1 AV grenade/swarm for free LAV kills OR removal.

This. The only problem with the lavs is that thery are FREE, if people had to restock them the current hp would be good enough.
Also, small turrets need a buff. Drivers run over people because gunners can't kill ****. |

Please learn how to deal with free LAVS or all LAVS for that matter.
1. Stay away from open areas as I always do easy spot to be road kill at. 2. Always bring AV grenades if you don't have any equipped follow step 1. 3. Bring a starter swarm launcher fit or equip a militia forge gun on a militia heavy 4. Find any instillation and blow them to hell 5. Stick with an ally chances are he's caring AV 6. Get in your tank or find an allied tank and blow the LAV to hell 7. Get in your own LAV and chase the guy around the map for an hour
If you can not do 1 through 7 you deserve to die.
Also how hard is it to get to somewhere the LAV just can't get you... |

1. The path from objective to objective often is in an open area. There is no way around it 2. I do carry AV grenades. but while my AV grenades cost SP and ISK, Starter LAVs are FREE. It is clearly 1-sided 3. I have a swarm launchers build. It is meant to take out tanks also. But running around constantly as a swarms build is completely disadvantageous. I am only able to defend myself with a pistol whereas the driver can simply hop out of free LAV and gun me down with primary. What has been accomplished? within 3 seconds he will get another LAV for free 4. camping an installation waiting for free LAV to pass does not contribute to the team since i am not hacking/defending 5. Already do so 6. Not everyone drives a tank. Also, i should not have to pay some 10k isk tank + gun just to destroy a FREE LAV 7. Chasing someone in an LAV for an hour accomplishes nothing and contributes nothing to the team since i am unable to hack/defend objectives.
You do not see the real problem here. Consider new players. Instead of honing in on their infantry skills (medic/frontline/defense/etc) many are moving on to LAV spam. FREE LAV spam. But what does this accomplish? they are not contributing to the team by defending objectives from being hacked. SImply they are running ppl over for kills and this is bad for the entire team. It is like having a sniper that does not watch objectives/gives infantry sniper support and instead randomly kills players at random.
Simply put if anyone wants to drive they should pay/skill for it just like everything else in the game. |

I agree, free LAVs should be removed. Some people have free lav BPOs that CCP gave and that's fine, they can simply add SP to skills to use them just as we do with the Raven Assault suit along with the other racial variants. Some of us have to use massive amounts of SP just to use suits we paid aurum for back in Chromosome. LAVs shouldn't be any different. |

Starter LAVs are free points in a pub match. For both sides.
The real annoyance are the Logi LAVs, but now people actually have to put skills into AV, solely because of murder taxis.
From "nonexistant" those AV-capable became "a nieche but notable asset".
I believe its fine as it is, the issue is as always bad matchmaking. |

I don't think that LAVs are necessary to participate in the game and thus they shouldn't be free. If the devs really want to keep them free then I'd suggest applying the rule of "you get what you pay for". That means free LAVs should die to pretty much anything that hits harder than an AR.
Again, bought LAVs are a completely different topic. |

how many kamikazis does it take to destroy an expensive ship? bc in dust it takes one hit to kill a proto. The dude payed for it, while the lav was free, yet it takes only 1 hit to send that suit down the drain |
