As my clone woke up back on the minja barge- I came to a realization. Us knifer scouts should always honor another scouts knife challenge on the field. Do not fire upon him if you are without knife. Respectfully decline by moving, find a supply depot, and meet up proper.

Perhaps we can designate that a proper meet up to have the duel will always move to the furthest useable SE corner of any map? initiating a dual with another scout is pretty straight forward.. you just slice you knives repeatedly :D

Next time we will dual millers I always have knives

I think it may be tough though if the other scout with knives doesn't recognize that you want to knife fight (if you don't have a knife).... I mean how do you get him to realize that you need to go to a supply depot and stock some knives for the duel? Maybe he'll just knife you in the back as you run away, wondering why you didn't shoot at him....?

I just wonder if the new knife sounds are too quiet. 1.1 knives and earlier were hella loud, so you could hear another scout if he was slshing. I noticed my usual partner's knives were pretty darn quiet. even so, graphically speaking, IMHO, the devs did a great job with the knives. it is pretty obvious if someone is holding them. I am sure in these early stages, the savage knifers won't know about the treaty, and they will kill you. But we can, over time, hopefully, institute an honor system that will carry into the game lore over the next decade?

There was an instance when I came across an M scout and he pulled out his blades. At the point I was thinking: Chance of victory with knife = 0% Chance of victory with gun = 75% Honor lost with gun = 100% So I switched to meh knives and took the death like a man. Hopefully karma will do me a solid and allow me decent knife fights in the future

I use to average 20kills a game with only my knife now its about 12-16per game

If I run into another person who is using them on the opposing team I will try and honor using only knives provided they do as well(and no one interferes - hardest part imo). It has only happened to me once, I don't remember the scouts name, but my knives salute you good sir you are an honorable warrior. For those that use a secondary gun weapon what is the general consensus as working the best with the Novas? I run with SMGs(speced to proto with them) but I been thinking about trying to run with a Militia Shotgun to test the playstyle a bit. I also got 50 free copies of a laser rifle so I may try that as well for the lolz.

As for making a close quarters combat class I plan to do so after I get my hacker and sniper builds up some more... or the cloak equipment comes out :D At first I thought it would make you completely invisible but a DEV blog proved otherwise. The way they are going to make it seems balanced to me though so I still can't wait.

I will honor fellow scouts. When they are dead that is.....

I was a shotty scout but now I am running the knives (and the loss of my clones is mounting! Lol). But I get it a lot...and for a guy who is learning it can be down right frustrating when you do get the jump just for the blue shields to show up

All I had was a shotty and a flaylock, so instead, I practiced bobbing and weaving with out firing a shot. He was doing pretty good and we were in an enclosed space, so it was intense! However, a team mate came upon us and slew him outright
