Real Talk... Actual numbers -
Proto Cal Logi: 4x complex shield extenders 1x AUR Complex recharger (level III in recharger skill, max other shield skills):
588 Sh HP / 29.16 hp/sec recharge
Replacing recharger with complex energizer (not AUR... yaaaayyyy):
574 Sh HP / 32.00 hp/sec recharge
The module costs me 14hp - less than 1x round of SMG/AR survivability - and pays for itself in HP gained (extra 2.84hp/sec) after roughly 5 seconds. After that 5 seconds, I have officially been "Buffed" by CCP.
CONCLUSION: ... not the Earth Shattering buff that I thought it was when I initially saw the stats, and while the secondary effect of this module *IS* a slight and unnecessary buff to shield tanked Caldari Logis, the *PRIMARY* effect of this module should be seen on shield tanking assaults where this module can stack on role bonuses, making them more suited for their frontline role.. so this is a step in the right direction as far as balancing Logis with Assaults, but just leaves Armor further behind.
RECOMMENDATION: ... un- **** solo armor tanking kthx. armor tankers *DO* enjoy more benefit from logistics, but this is overshadowed given current game design focused on run-and-gun instant battles and a lack of game modes promoting team play for the majority of the player base resulting in armor tanked individual mercenaries being at a disadvantage in the final analysis. |

Hmm, I was wondering why people were so whoohoo about Shield Energizers. I haven't got a chance to login yet but people were saying that these were high slots, which take away more shield extenders while the rechargers were in the low slots. |

The energizer isn't a huge issue in and of itself. It's more that shield tanks are getting something that can be seen as a buff while armour tankers receive plates which are useless. I don't have much of a problem with the energizer. I feel that it should have skill requirements and the penalty should affect extender HP as well, though. |

Agreed also any shield tanker complaining about the energizer shall have their skin melted off with a laser rifle(or tickle beam) |
