Really, whats the point in spending sp into anything. Some cry baby going to come along and convince CCP to nerf just about everything they don't use. You spec into something based on stat that are present only to have those stat downgrade after you have spent your sp. Then CCP claims no more respec, if CCP changes there mind on stat and respec that weapon, vehicle, drop suit, etc i should be able to respec my skill points. Finding it hard to spend my sp now days because of all the nerfing thats going around, and im not a high sp character. Looking at the player count and it shrinking by the day........ |

But TBQH if you go advanced level into a suit and weapon you really haven't spent "that" much on it. Prof V in a weapon... yeah... that's gonna suck when all of a sudden AR gets nerfed because "combat rifle". |

Spec into what you find fun. Whether or not it's the FotM shouldn't be a determining factor. My alt uses laser rifles. Fun as hell. |

When a better balance is achieved then all the SP spent will be worth it. It may take a while but all weapons will be balanced with their racial brothers. Sidearms to sidearms and lights to lights. We will get there we just need to be patient and provide constant feed back that is constructive. It does work and we have to stick to it. |

I can't spec into anything because there isn't enough content to me to choose what I want to spec into.
I pick AR- Its a waste because Gauss rifles will be a separate skill,
I pick Amarr Assault.... to bad Amarr Scouts came out
I skill into Armour Tanks- Well Eff you Harkon We (CCP) just brought out Amarr Tanks! |

The principle reason why CCP won't give any more respecs is that it will have a negative effect on the delicate economy that CCP has plans to merge us into. That and respecs prevent CCP from obtaining proper metrics and data since too many players will spec into the flavor of the month and not enough players speccing into other things thus running the risk of CCP improperly nerfing or buffing weapons. |

People will still b itch whether everything is balanced or not.
I have no doubt. I don't want balance and neither does anyone else because balance would mean every weapon, suit and module would work the same. We want hard counters to everything, the imbalance is what is fun and without it the game would be so bland it would already be dead.
When I talk about balance I am talking about having the ability to choose a fit that counters what every fit is giving me problems. If I can't kill an AR merc because of the damage the AR puts out then I can go with a LR and be able to engage them out of their range. Heavy guarding a door? A plasma cannon makes short work of heavies.
The point is that we need a diverse set of weapons and modules that give us the flexibility to adapt to the problem. Not only through weapon and skills but through modules and tactics. With balanced weapons new ideas are hard to come by but with a set of weapons that are unbalanced and generally equal we can devise new tactics and doctrines.
When I say unbalanced and generally equal I mean that every weapon has an advantage over another but a flaw when compared to a third or fourth. Nerf and Buff is the circle of life and being nervous about SP placement equals no fun. Put you SP where you want and try to have fun. It is a game, don't worry about the future at the expense of the present. |

Don't go off stats. Go off of what the intended role is. Things are not always balanced. If you see something is blatantly OP, don't spec into it unless you want to use it for what it is intended to do. |

Core skills for the win. It's the smartest move until the rest of the racial suits and weapons come out, and these items are balanced....
Or just spec into what you find enjoyable. Always a good idea.
Or take the long view and spec into everything..... talk about commitment....

I going for core skills ... is to many Dropsuits variants that haven't been release yet. I spend some SP on the Adv Assault.. but i won't go any farther to all the Dropsuit variants has been release. |

The only other safe routes would be into modules for example Damage Modifiers, or shields and armor |
