So, you're suggesting that new modules will make dropsuit designs more effective?
You don't say.

You mean that new armor will be useful for mixed users? Ok. Seems about right. Really, you can't be exclusively a shield tanker when you're stacking armor right?
Also, these new armor modules will be extremely useful for smart armor tankers, but I'm not telling you how.

Well, they're giving everyone an equal bonus and the same advantage.
The fact that Caldari Logi can be exploited to be a super Assault Suit is another fact.
But still I can't see how these new plates will make things worse. If they switch to them they will have better mobility but less HP.
On my Caldari Assault I'd rather keep a basic plate to get 65 HP at the laughable cost of a 3% speed reduction, or, if anything, I'm interested in a reactive plate when they are out. |

Well, let me tell you that I will be using them. They have some very nice features. They will work excellently for those that pay attention and think, which won't be most players. What I'm talking about isn't obvious, and I'm being obtuse because I don't want you to know, but yes, they will be very useful indeed.\
Not that it matters, but for the record, don't the new non-slowing plates give the exact same amount of HP as shields? Yes , I watched the video. |

BTW I'm not saying I won't try them out but it looks like they won't be useful for armor tankers. |

Who cares? Low slots are where all the good **** happens anyway. Shield + weak armor on the same guy means he's not using kin cats or hacking mods or shield regulators or cardiac regulators or armor reps. On the other hand now you can get some gallants guys running full armor lows with full damage highs and they won't be completely outclassed in speed and survivability. |

Well the equivalent Complex Shield Extender is only 66 HP and it takes up a slot that could be used for a damage mods, and of course is subject to fluxes. Also, I think (could be wrong) that the shield mods take more cpu/pg. So (10% diff), this seems reasonably balanced to me. |

Won't be as bad as you think it is, the bonuses suck ass for these modules, and they use a crap ton of CPU/PG. I as a Gallente Logistics can't even fit them, assuming the stats haven't changed, so it would be even worse for a Shield suit. The new modules won't be a game changer because it is more efficient to use the current plates. |

Not as balanced as you think, as an armor tank we need the shield to survive certain damage types that would otherwise 1HKO-3HKO us, explosives; so no matter how "balanced" CCP makes it we will always need shields. On the other hand shield tanks don't need armor at all, unless personal preference demands it, as a shield tank you get the added benefit of extremely fast shield repair and even with a delay the enhancers can drop it to almost a second. So armor tanks actually now have less CPU/PG than shield tanks if we want to compete, while shield tanks do not even have to worry about it since they can choose to ignore armor, armor tanks cannot ignore shields. |

Yup, the cal logi would need a CPU extension AND PG upgrade just to use the other 2 slots for these armor mods, they'd also lose access to shield regulators and Kin mods. I see no problem, you can't just magically Omni tank because you have the slots for it |

3 out of 4 of my low slots as a Calogi are used for PG and CPU extenders just so I can run a decent fit in terms of equipment, weapon, nades and high slots (proto suit). And the one low slot I have I use for my enhanced catalyzer so I actually have a half-decent running speed (same as assault baseline speed).
I am however looking forward to more fit choices with the new plates which hopefully don't impact movement speed at all (or extremely minimally). Cause as a calogi and already having nerfed movement speed compared to an assault, is quite the handicap. No mods out there increase strafe speed, only sprint, so strafe is already permanently gimped. Therefore regular plates are pretty much off the table for me. No reason to use them if they make me more vulnerable by making me slower and a easier target to hit.
Do we know yet if these are going to be low slots modules? Either way I am saving for them just in case, if they turn out to be a flop (I am assuming they probably will be knowing CCP) then I will spend that SP elsewhere. But I hope not, as I like the idea of being able to armor tank a bit without the huge hit to movement and sprint speed. |

Anyone know what the effects and stats of the new shield energizers are? Because they could potentially help an armor tanker survive those pesky explosives a bit better.
I'm looking forward to fiddling with my fits nicely when the new stuff all comes out. Hopefully I'll be able to do some useful stuff with my gal light and medium frames. |

Flux grenades cant kill the user. So running away and waiting to recharge your shields will get you back to full HP in about a minute.
