I love the squad aspect of this game and actually playing as a tactical unit, but various aspects of my life prevent me from being on comms or really focusing too much on any given match. More often than not, I'm rolling around solo, sometimes hopping into a squad to help them get an orbital; even then, staying off comms and generally keeping to myself. I do alright for myself in most matches, even getting near or at the top of the boards about half of my matches, and I'm by no means an "all star" player (lol AR Fatty )
I guess I just wanted to see who else out there plays like this / say that you can definitely play solo in this game, it's just that squads are so much more efficient, for glaringly obvious reasons. |

When I began playing primarily as a Forge Gunner, my playing experience has incorporated no others aside from myself.
I usually stray from any groups and run directly towards the enemy red lines. I then proceed to shoot down all blaster installation turrets alongside any LAVs that are being called in. After that, I tend to find a high spot where I can see the objectives and proceed to rooftop Forge snipe.
It gets lonely... but raking in 500-900 WP for destroying installation turrets could not be more satisfying.

I can't really bring myself to join a squad. I'll call in a tank and help out wherever I can, but I just don't really care for squads. It could be because whenever I do squad, we always get that twelve year old CoD fanboi that's screaming into his mic "I SO GOT THAT KILL YOU ****ING KS'ER OH WTF HE DIDN'T EVEN HIT ME". Could just be bad luck right there.
I like doing my own thing. I think that's really the reason why I do it. |

Pretty much the exact same situation with me. Sometimes I can be dominate other times I get owned. I generally strive for the win over KD/R which is why I normally run logi suits. I like being the one that tuns the tide by dropping a critical spawn point. Tanks draw me like a moth to a flame so I can get side tracked with trying to destroy them. So even if I am in a squad I always end up wandering away. |

It's bad too because I just use Hacked AV nades and a militia forge gun lmao, now that I think of it, that's where my SP can be going right now....build a better cannon....
Anyways, those matches I usually go negative, cuz I'm one of the only ones if not the only one actively hunting down the tanks. My preferred method is to take my free armored LAV and try to come up behind the tank. Sometimes I can crash the LAV into it for added damage, other times the LAV crushes me when I try >_< Then I just spam AV nades and if I'm still alive I'll start shooting it with my forge. |

People who run solo shouldn't be allowed to critique the game and offer solutions.
It would be like refusing to drive on the track in Gran Tourismo and complaining about the gameplay.
You are really missing out. You probably roll militia gear 95% of the time and have over 200 million isk saved up for that rainy day too. |

I almost always roll in a squad. Skirmish is just to frustrating to play solo.
But when i do go solo, its always an ambush because it's so much easier to carry the team. |

I use advanced fits about 80% of the time with prototype being about 12-15% of the time. I've been playing for over a year, with a wealth of squad based experience. When I'm just rolling around solo sometimes I'll draw in a bunch of randoms and "Squad lead". I haven't ran a squad where everyone is on comms doing their thing since before uprising, I used to do it a lot back then though. I don't want to be distracted and not on comms rolling with my corp, so I choose to go solo most of the time.
As I said, various real life reasons keep me from being able to play that way right now. I have the experience, I'm pretty good at leading a squad and definitely at being a member of one.
Oh, and I only sit at around 3 million ISK because I burned through over 100 million testing their stupid dropships in team based scenarios.

I've been a solo fattie since Universal Allies fell apart. Enjoying it at the moment.
Joined an old bud's EVE corp until I figure out which DUST corp I want to throw my chips in with, and until CCP fixes more of this game.
IMO: People who don't have the clarity of mind to look at numbers shouldn't be allowed to comment on game balance. We get nothing but knee-jerk emotional nitwits creating "OMG IT KILLED ME NERF IT" or "OMG MY KDR BUFF ME" threads.
The people who should comment on balance are the ones who take the time to back up their suggestions logically and thoughtfully. That is all. |

My feedback is more from personal experience in game with said issues. That said, I am pretty good at identifying those who DO know what they're talking about when it comes to numbers, and I have no issues taking a stand against them if I feel it will kick start their brains into coming up with an intelligent solution.

I'm sorry, but I still play the same game as everyone else here, and my opinion matters just as much as yours. Just because I don't adhere to someone else's playstyle doesn't mean I'm incompetent. I roll Gunnlogi's in pubs that cost about 1.4m each in just about every round I play, so I risk more than those other "95%" you're speaking of.
I have tried squading up. It isn't for me. I still find the game enjoyable. Is that wrong? |

I tend to run alone pretty often just to sharpen my skills. Live-fire practice in suboptimal conditions, most recently been trying to get back in the swing of Scram Pistols, my ability to use them degraded significantly with Uprising.
Lately been getting hit feedback markers but without any damage being applied. Only in the last couple of days though, funny stuff. Observation, not excuse. Most of my problems still stem from me.
The other side of it is my spec is Forge Guns. When running outside of an AV capacity my options are mediocre to middling and that's not changing for another 3 mil SP. Not being all that good in the first place means I'd probably not be that great an addition to any serious squad. |

I meant to make a bug report yesterday but figure I'll wait for 1.2, but I was leading a squad of randoms and my Orbitals would land off target, sometimes waaay off target....
So, I'm looking forward to 1.2 as much as my brain will let me, hopefully these mechanical fixes start fixing things instead of breaking them. Plus, I can't wait to slaughter all those silly Commandon'ts |

I usually go the lone merc route, too. I run with a scout fit or AV - but I usually still join squads because it helps my team work toward orbital strikes. I played a pub skirmish last week and racked in 1600 WP, so it helped my team get off like 2-3 strikes. |

IMO if you haven't used it against a full proto PC team, you probably shouldn't be talking about it. There are exceptions tho. |

I lonewolf because I dont have any friends on the ps3 and no wireless bluetooth or USB type headphones for decent squad communication. Previously a 5 yr XBL player.
I havent joined a corp because most of their recruitment letters were pretty much generic infomercials and the fact I know most of them just want me so they can team stack more and not have to go against me. |

I tend to play solo most of the time because my friends don't have much time to play, but I do prefer playing with them. When I play solo though, 9 out of 10 games are skirmish or domination and I am an objective sniper. Offensive or defensive, there are plenty of targets at and around objectives. In the case of offensive I help clear the way for hackers, take out drop uplinks and nanohives, kill heavies and logis (as they are the priority targets), and prevent counter hacks. Defensive means killing hackers and rarely even firing at other targets unless it is a guaranteed kill, because defensive means I am the last line of defense and as such must not give my position away. When playing with friends on the other hand, we tend to get up close and personal, with a mix of complimenting gear including each type of grenade, weapons to cover a variety of ranges, and a logi ready to rep and res as needed. Works wonders. |

I tend to run Solo just to get a good fight, running in a squad just results in being put against a random blue berry team that we redline in 2 min, there's nothing fun with that. Besides i think the match making works better (not all the time) if your Qing solo. To date i've had some on the most intense battle by going solo, i mean match's where its been down to 1 tick on both MCC's and the next action you take will determine the victor |

It was down to the wire and we were about to lose when I respawned and made a bonzai charge into A, clearing it out and contesting it long enough for a couple of my blueberries to come over and move on C as we won.
