Wow, I was just posting out of jest. I thought the XD smiley would have given you that hint about it. But guess you let that fly right over your head and decided to scream at me like that annoying guy in that classic cartoon show DILBERT. |

It's people like you who are the reason why I have little faith in humanity. You asked a question and you received your answer that spans for pages yet you act like only your opinions matters and not that of everyone else. Hell, you couldn't even take a joke that I posted here. Comes to show how selfish you are on the inside. |

OK, we are going way off topic here. OP, I apologize for my joke which you took the wrong the wrong way. I didn't mean for it to be insulting.
Anyways, Dust is a unique game in own in the sense that the company behind is operating under a set of rules that they created. A lot of games that you see now follow traditional rules on what is considered complete and what is considered beta. Dust on the other hand, just like Eve Online, blurrs that fine line completely.
Officially Dust is in commercial release but unofficially it will forever be in permanent beta just like Eve Online. Again, CCP is rewriting the rules on how games are designed and published just like how Apple Inc. redesigned the entire music industry with 0.99 cent songs in an age where the music industry thought otherwise. Eve Online did the same thing with the MMO industry in an age where most MMOs were suppose to be theme park like but Eve blew that out of the water with the introduction of a universe so harsh and yet so free that you can do things in there that would otherwise get you banned elsewhere. Now Dust is bringing in a concept that other FPS console game developers are too scared to even try which is basically the idea of a free-to-play game that has endless (and free) updates that will improve over the years while giving players the ability to dictate how the game is developed via the Council of Planetary Management.
The Council of Planetary Management (CPM) is the console version of Eve Online's Council of Stellar Management (CSM) which in the future is slated to become player-elected and thus give players a much stronger voice than the current CPM we have now. In fact, the current CPM's purpose is to help CCP establish a proper voting system for the next CPM election so that players can finally determine the outcome of the development of Dust. This is something you don't really see in other game besides Eve Online.
Eve Online and Dust are the only games in the entire MMO and Console industries with their own player representatives whose purpose is to determine the outcome of game development in addition to helping players bring forward issues that need to be resolved. On top of that, both games are planned to have a single unified economy that crosses both platforms while players have full control over it which is another thing you are never going to see in any other game.
CCP has reset our accounts to zero during the transition from the Singularity Test Server to the Tranquillity Live Server. But then they gave us a week to grind however much we want before we then moved into open beta. That is when CCP allowed us to keep our SP as a reward for those who stuck around during that one week period. We earned it and that is all.
Traditionally game developers would have reset everyone on launch anyways, but again CCP is operating under their own rules and felt there was no point in having everyone start off on even ground because eventually new players will come in months or years down the line and still be facing against veterans anyways. On top of that, there is also the fact that the skill tree is intentionally designed to take 7-10 years to complete so that every player still has something to aim for in the future.
I understand that there are players out there who don't like starting off on uneven ground let alone willing to grind for 7-10 years, but that is how CCP has planned it in the first place. Many of us expected this as well since 2009 for those of us who were around back then.
I hope this explains things better for you. |

@cordera
I recommend toning down the use of caps lock. It really doesn't help convey anything that you are saying other than just screaming. |

Ok.
WTF man. Do you have some kind of mental disorder or something? I apologized for my joke just now, tried to answer your question in a polite manner after that, and then tried to let you know that broken caps lock doesn't help anyone.
Yet here you are verbally assaulting me by telling me to deal with it? What do you want from us here? We answered your question and yet you act like you don't like the answer and therefore act like an immature kid wanting everyone to agree with you no matter what. If that's the case, good luck getting any help from us in answering further questions from you.

Then why did you just tell me to DEAL WITH IT like you are full of arrogance? I understand that DUST is full of trolls, but even us trolls have better standards and courtesy than what you just exhibited. |
