Howdy, was browsing the forums and thought the LR might have threads on MG5 so dipped in here to see if DUST's scout community was maybe discussing it at all (looks like no) and happened across this

...a couple pages back and was wondering whether its pure speculation? Or are you aware of actual plans to port? Inquiring minds want to know....

No, Gold Resin is a BPC.

mollerz wrote:@el Operator I've been playing the **** out of MGS5. Snake is an OG minja fo sure.
I am seriously digging the aspect of cultivating a merc army, it's assets, and then going out into the sandbox field and wrecking ****. The graphics on the PS4 are phenomenal. I'm at 7% and I feel lie I went through a war already.. so fun.
o/ again!
Yeah, game is excellent, well worth the wait. I'm only at 3% myself, been sidetracked just riding around Afghanistan and enjoying the beauty that is MG5s visual/mechanical polish. And kidnapping High Skill Soldiers and assets for MB/side missions XD
I'm still finding it hilariously funny to ride up to an outpost hanging off the saddle, flooding the area with smoke grenades then dismounting and sprinting through the smoke using the Million-Dollar-Man knockout punch on bots busy coughing. Game is surreal in its ability to please.

Hi
Server closure has me digesting the last couple years and I thought I'd swing through here before things get hectic. At one point last year during ongoing conversations about buffs and nerfs some of the convos could get...intense. I, for my part in those, wanted to affirm I never held any hard feelings towards any of you neither individually or collectively. I always admired many of you for your observed excellence in PC and FW as well as many of your various debate points (even the ones I absolutely eviscerated) on the forums. The game is a game but we are all people playing it and I for one just wanted to recognize you for the people you are because of the person I am.
Good Luck and Have Fun all of you. o7 el OPERATOR
P.S. if you PS4 (or PC) and haven't already you may enjoy Metal Gear Online 3. It (sadly) isn't even close to as good as MGO2 was BUT it does have its great parts for stealth-tactical combat gameplay. PS4s The Division's Dark Zone is gonna be hairy too, very much a stealther's paradise, though the stealth play there is integrally linked to the cover-based combat system versus say MGO3s style. Check them out

I played MGO3 for about a month after release but gave up before the big patch. Balance aside, the global peer-to-peer matchmaking and more Japanese players than American players made the game unplayable. Has that improved since? And does the game look to have much of a future with Konami's apparent disdain for traditional video games?
Well, the P2P thing is what it is, and isn't going to change. That said, they did patch in a host migration aspect so when the host quits the whole round doesn't just get flushed away as well as some lobby title options and ping indicators so people can label their rooms NA/JP/EU and you get a connection indicator. MGO has always had a certain amount of lag but imo (and I've been conscious about trying to only join games where I connect well) outside of obvious just laggy players the game as whole runs well. The hit detection, detail rendering and overall game responsiveness to player input is fast and tight as much as can be expected. It's fuckin' gorgeous, really, and a shame other aspects weren't different so it'd be appreciated by more people.
If you haven't been paying attention there's an update coming in March with a couple new maps, new salutes (charm dances, people) and Quiet being added as a PC Unique. There's also a patch for February due (tho it might get rolled into the March update) that'll change some of the balance stuff (elocs getting nerfed, ambient sound too) and add in the knife as selectable weaponry.
