Lonewolf Scout here, SG wielding old Q3-player ( highly allergic to the slower suits, with exception for the occassional FG need ). |

Yeah, I've sen that too My solution has been to place the first RE on the side (preferably their right side), toss the second near the back, and the third in the sweet spot. Reason for the right side: - if you only get two on they sometimes run to recall, the tendency is to stand on the right side to do a recall - They don't often see that one go on, your chances of getting three are increased.
Whilst I miss the glory days of dumbfire SL, there are still a lot of fun going AV with the Scout.
Have you ever tried to "rodeo" the tank just standing on it whilst putting them there? Or is there another moment that I'm missing out on?

Thanks for trying it out, I have not tried it when RE's got sticky and obviousely tanks got slippery.
Yeah I tried the PLC out when it go released for AV use but got greatly disappointed, I was hoping for a skillbased arc-launching weapon of doom, to not just learn but to master. When it finally came I realized how worthless it was in AV situations, but kinda fun dancing with vs. infantry and lobbing those balls of plasma.
This sound? To they get a sound that alerts them inside the tank? :O

Anyways PLC + Flux = Shield HAV bane. Adv PLC with no damage mods can one shot most shield HAVs after shields are stripped.
Oh, seems I have to give it another go then. Even though the mechanical issues with it. :) |

What about Hybrid Slots?
Instead of removing the Sidearm for an extra Equipment. Would'nt it be nice if a Hybrid Slot could be introduced?
The Hybrid Slot would be able to carry either a Sidearm or an Equipment.
If this was introduced, would'nt it increase Scout versatility, viability and the ability to deeply personalize your beloved suit?
Depending on tier and race, different slot configurations could occur. And that really is something of future concern, if ever to be implemented. Is this something that is acceptable, does it follow the lines of lore, am I a stupid dreamer with a wish for intergalactic peace?
Either convert the Sidearm to a Hybrid Slot or convert the Sidearm and the Equipment slot to Hybrid Slot.
The next problem in a dual Hybrid Slot-suit would be that you could carry three arms of your choosing, with the regulations of the Sidearm, but also a Light if we imagine that the current slot configuration will be in play for us.
Hit me with your best Slot! |

Hit me with your best Slot! We don't need anything this complicated. We just need a short list of simple adjustments. +1 EQ - all scouts +stamina - all scouts -profile - all scouts (confirmed at approx 35) +scan radius - all scouts +CPU/PG - all scouts (amount depending on cloak cost) racial differences (in addition to obvious CPU/PG and Shield/Armor differences) +more stamina - Amarr Scout -scan precision - Caldari Scout +scan radius - Gal Scout +melee damage - Minmatar Scout (confirmed 120HP) Add Cloak, refraining from utilizing IWS's suggestions where possible Short, simple, and easy. Do this, and I would think we'd all be fairly satisfied.
My thought with Hybrid Slot is nothing that I think should be implemented, cause I believe it would distort more then it would solve.
If the things you state above are valid requests and will be implemented, I believe Scouts would be to powerful. As of now the Scout is a formidable fighter, but it lacks it's role specific belonging. It's more like a paperthin medium frame that is slightly faster and less prone to be detected, everything else is worse.
While I think it should be that way(else we would've just been a lot of Scouts running around in eachothers shadows), we still need some love to enable us to fulfill our role to a higher degree.
I agree on most points, but I'm not sure about the 2nd EQ yet. You advocate it should be on all Scout suits?

I've come to realize that I don't want any changes to the Scout, I'm perfectly fine with it the way it is.
I'm willing to accept one extra EQ and slightly higher CPU/PG, but any more than that would render the Scout to powerful. It's all about wits, tactics, distraction, sabotage, deception and much more.
For myself even the removal of SA and an extra EQ as a trade, would work for me. But I don't think it's a fair thing to do towards the Scout clas, considering the tender love some of the other classes has gained over time.
But this is from my POV and I rarely use Complex/Prototype gear, even if I have the possibility to use Protosuit Scout and a couple of modules at Complex level. However I might come to realize if I want to fully fit a Prototype suit with Complex gear I'll come short rather soon. So those levels I'm unaware of.
My playstyle revolves around passive scanning, utilizing UL's and RE's mostly as equipment, the CR is a perfect fit for me(as long as I keep myself at optimal range) and what the Flux said to clear out clusters of enemy equipment.
At ~14 million SP I still have a lot to invest into my build to make it optimal and that is without branching to far into other stuff, man I'm gonna play this for eternity. |

I'd prefer having both a std and advanced fit just depending on my mood. I also only invested into the adv NK (I'm trying to save up for 1.8....)
Emphasis on scan range and speed? OR buffer and speed? Shield extenders or sidearm damage mods? Bundle of shield stacking Scout fits, that's a NO(Edited by me Qn1f3, found on page 370)!
FYI: Engineering IV, Electronics IV Advice: Spawn with Uplink fit. Sneak behind their line. Switch to Harassment or Recon fit. Stick to the cheap fits.
Your advice though aligns with how I play that fantastic suit. I've not yet played with NK's, but I prefer to be unseen and to be able to survey my victims. I would think twice before jumping something tanked with NK's, but anything else would be a valid target.
All this talk about NK's make me curious and I might end up trying them out, however I won't do as the full Scout squad that so desperately tried to slice me, that they ended up cuddling with the projectiles of my CR. |

If you're a GalScout, I recommend sinking SP before passing judgement. ZN-28s at Operation III are quite different from ZN-28s at Proficiency III. Your CR will be an excellent primary; CR+NK is the Musturd Way :-) PS: Great stabbing squads last night :-)
Yeah I can imagine, so I would need at least ~500k SP to make it really worthwhile? Not really able to check the numbers as of now. I think I'll actually take them for a spinn, after all my name implies I want to whisper in your ear while I slit your throat with a blade. The name itself is far to old and immature, but it has come to be my netdentity.
But I will still do it Appia-style, that is to bring a gun to a knife fight! Which also is a thing I believe the most Novice NK'ers do wrong. There so focused on getting NK-kills that they forget to apply tactics and whits, I've been a SG-wielding bastard mainly, until recently, I think you could and should apply similar engagement methods when using the NK.
Also, baiting and blowing with RE's is there anything more fun within the game as of now? |

I can't decide if I'm trolling or not, but the PG-modules and leftover PG should enhance NK damage!
Using the exo-skeleton[is this right?] to channelize power into those shimmering blades, and electrocute those mindless clones of not-yet-knowing-your'e-dead-meat to make a BBQ of brobdingnagian proportions! |

This is MADNESS! Not only the reports of Scout Overpoweredness(that's like formal invite to the whole FOTM-playerbase), I want to be alone in my shadows and most shadowy one!
It seems that we're going towards more and more tanke in this game and that is what worries me the most. When every class is running around with ~800 - ~1000eHP, what the flux are you gonna do?
It takes away all the fun with being a speedy, stealthy and going in fast and hard for the kill. Now I'll have to hammer even the scouts for several seconds.
Overal I think the changes will be good, as long as the other classes gets enough buffs to not jump onto the scout train. It sounds to good to be true.
I love the changes to the scouts racials and it seems I can continue playing the way I want to, with a little extra omph!
Well see what 1.8 comes to be!
EDIT: Also threadnaught is threadnaught, takes a great portion of my daily routine to catch up on the bible. But then again, everything important mentioned on the forums is discussed in this thread. |

I've tried the NK's now and they just might replace the SMG on the SA slot for me. Mainly because you can sneak around for ever and still pose somewhat of a threat!
But the mechanics surround them are a little bit stale, no super speed stealth killer with charged blades. Death from above is as valid as it is with SG.
I'm a little confused about the damage tho?
If we take the Advanced ZN-28(is it?), they've got a base of 150dmg.
- Is that per blade?
- How much does the charge multiply base damage?
- And lastly how does the damage mod multiply upon normal and charge strikes?

I like that the Scout Registry is going strong but it is (a whole lot) more than just a registry and has been for quite some time. (Good job all around on that one! )

I tried playing a bit with a minmatar light frame + combat rifle & nova knives... I am surprised that anyone would chose to stay in a game that, repeatedly, pits you, together with your fellow starter fit wearing newbies, against stacked teams using nothing but proto and tanks.
It isn't always like that tho, I tried a little HMG a while ago and went 36/3 with a new toon. I sincerely hope there were no protobears inside.
@Shotty, as for IWS and the title, it's in favor for me(if my vote counts).
I'll apply with an alt when I'm online next time. |

Of course your vote counts. Two questions for you: Is your name pronounced "KNIFE"? Why is your name scratched out again (inactivity, retirement or suit switch)?
Yes the pronounciation is Knife, and I know it's a childish spelling of a nick I had @ the age of 12 and it kinda stuck ever since. And I'm a little bit older now..
My name scratched out? In the registry? Well I've been a periodic player, so that might be the cause. |

I made an alt for Nos Nothi that is a Minmatar Scout currently running the MK-1(name of first Minmatar Scout suit?). And it's aching inside my Gallentian heart, I miss him so. Mostly because of the vastly better Profile Dampening, I really despise every nut running around doing the "360-¦ Scan Dance"..
However I suppose they will fix it somehow in the upcoming patch. Anyone knows anything about it? |
