I run my scout suit nine times out of ten, usually as a sniper. I have no clue where my kill number is right now, but It's my second week playing so I doubt it's over 500 since I can only play an hour or so a day this month. Hopefully I will one day earn a place amongst you. I am cautiously optimistic about the "Scout love" coming in 1.5/.6. |

Hang tight because it's going to be a murder fest after 1.4, hopefully it's in our favor, and makes the scout experience more fun and durable to play with. It has been truly a hellish experience playing as a scout, absolute BS hard mode, I don't midn the hard mode but we need the BS out of our gameplay. I really want more light weapons to choose for my scoutly activities.
It would be cool if we can deploy a motion detector, then when someon passes by, he'll show up on my radar for x seconds. A precision weapon that deals explosive rounds. The bullets strike someone and then a second later they explodes, in essence it will be delayed damage!
A toxic smoke grenade that corrodes shield and armor. These devs better be pulling stuff like this. I want a melee light weapon! A Sledgehammer for my Minnie Scout.
I am envisioning an over sized pipe wrench.... maybe it can repair vehicles really slowly as well. =P |

I have a question for my fellow scouts. I have only played a few rounds of 1.4 so far as it has been a busy week. During these rounds I have crept up on hackers with my shotgun and on three separate occasions had to empty six shells to kill them, because four didn't register. Is this just how 1.4 is going to be, or have they hotfixed this since I played on Wednesday?
TLDR: What did 1.4 do to my shotgun and do we know if there are plans to fix it? |

I am exclusively a scout player. If you ever see me in the pubs loaded out as anything else, it's my girlfriend playing on my account. I have been playing for a bit over a month now and have enjoyed myself. I have to tip my metaphorical hat to Shotty GoBang (whose name always reminds me of Erin Go Bragh) for being such an amazing advocate and organizer for the scout populous.
The open sharing of advice and information in the scout community is one of the reasons I stuck with Dust, even after my first week of brutal and frequent losses. Keep the united front together, scout brothers and sisters. I, for one, truly appreciate it.

I just noticed Shotty's latest killboard update. I never pay much attention to my K/D R since I usually land in the top three at the end of a match through super aggressive hacking and strategic uplink drops.
I now realize why I ignore my K/D R...
Regardless, thank you for the update Shotty. |

Hello fellow scouts.
I decided to pick up some nova knives today, because I enjoy having a varied weapon pool to draw from for different situations.
I had my first nova knife kill.
It was amazing, I stalked and killed the same poor sod three times as he tried to hack our various blaster installations. I had loads of fun.
So, my new go to fit for the week is a Dragonfly with a CardReg, Profile Dampener, Precision Enhancer, and wielding a Scrambler Pistol and a set of Novas. I am alternating equipment based on situation, I usually switch between a scanner and links for this one so far.
I die with three AR bullets or a single body shot from a militia sniper rifle.
With pistols and knives I have a ridiculously stunted effective range.
I have not had so much fun since I started playing. Pistol headshots and shankings are delightful.
Does anyone else run a combo along these lines?

I agree with knight of 6. I would normally consider a Scout to be a fast and highly mobile. They would also be lightly armored or shielded and have stealth capabilities. Usually, with hit and run or hard to use but almost always one hit kill weapon(NK's). Weapons of choice currently being Nova Knives, Shotguns, SMGs, Pistols. Though I have come to the conclusion that this is all useless. An Assault or Logi can do anything we can do except better. The only advantage we DID have at one point was going really fast and being hard to hit. That got taken away with Aim Assist and suddenly the Assault Rifles are one shot killing me from almost Sniper distances.
Its downright revolting right now how bad we are off right now. I can't even force myself to log on a play for the past week. I'm losing interest and not sure I even really want to log back on and play to be honest at this point.
Yes, it's absolutely sickening! I hope CCP is working on the suits and modules! We are here for you.
I concur, I am getting a bit disheartened. I have my fingers crossed that 1.5 will be beneficial for us. If not, I may purchase a 30 day passive omega in good faith and just collect SP while playing Skyrim until 1.6 comes along. |

If you intend to pursue Gallente FW rewards in 1.5, I suggest you prepare to compete at that level. We stand united. They cannot defeat that which they cannot see. Queue Syncs begin tomorrow. We will claim glory. Indeed, one way or another we win. If the other team is full proto, help make it cost them more than the rewards are worth. Remotes will kill anyone, no matter how many complex modules they have on it XD.
Boarding this train of thought, for all of my Gal-Scout Bluebros, I made a thread for Gallente FW and a chat channel as well:

I just was in a squad with a collection of first rate scouts. It was humbling.
In solo play I average around 1400 WP... mostly from a very aggressive installation hacking habit, dropping uplinks like a fiend and whipping out a swarm scout whenever I see a tank or two. I act as an autonomous unit in my squad, which typically consists of myself and two friends who run logistics fits.
I rounded out the last battle with approximately 400 war points. Not because I sucked too terribly, though it was by no means my best play of all time, but because most things were killed, hacked or controlled efficiently and quickly and were defended well enough to keep them from being brought back to red. I was out-scouted.
I hope one day to pull 23/0 or similarly outstanding matches as effortlessly as Shotty makes it seem. For now I will be content to go 12/6 and call it a good match.
Maybe next time I squad with a dedicated scout group I will have a properly functioning mic and won't be at my girlfriend's place... having to hand over the controller before you're done is no fun. At least I can backseat hack while my girlfriend plays on her account.
Thanks for the rounds, scouts! |

How goes it on the New Eden front, fellow scouts? I haven't been on for a week or so, I had to set time aside for a family wedding and a conference. Is there anything of note to report for us, any new fixes or pertinent whispers about 1.6? |

Oddly, I just made a thread about silencers... I hadn't checked in here for the night yet.
Tell me, do these concepts sound scout-y to you all?

Hey Scouts,
All this talk of cloaking devices has me excited. My brother has been playing on my account recently, since he's back in the state for the holiday season, and I've let him sink some of my SP into Gal-Assault 1. I've been tempted to use his fittings, seeing as he has a much greater margin of error between him and death with all of that sweet, sweet EHP.
Still, I remain a scout, and perform best with my Adv scout fits. I'm really hoping that we see some significant gains soon, and the cloak seems promising. I feel a scout with a RR can stay mobile and quickly obliterate enemies from range without ever being seen. A cloaked sniper is just frightening to think about.
Is there any other encouraging news on the scouting front? I need some things to hope for while I watch my brother survive CR blasts and waste my ISK/SP on his assault trappings. The urge to play assault for a bit is pretty high, since he's using my SP on it anyway.
I need scout hope!!!

Hey Scouts,
I took a two month hiatus from Dust because it became World of Tanks II for a while and I wasn't having it. I'll be jumping back in come 1.8 because I have been lured back by the promise of new balance tweaks and those sweet new scout suits. Also, cloaking. I was wondering, has anyone burned the midnight theory-craft oil on how cloaking is going to actually pan out? Also, are they going to be granting respecs now that everything will be on the table? I'd love to jump right into a new scout suit.
Keep 'em sharp, Gh0st

In true scout fashion I'm posting this stealthily while in a laboratory. I swear it won't result in anything blowing up.
I'm excited to go test out this new patch after so long away from World of Tanks, er... I mean Dust.
However, the QQ is legendary! As someone who's been scouting for the past year, barring my two month hiatus, what's the scout-to-scout opinion on cloaks and the new suits?
I normally run a Gal Scout and fit a SG or RR since it became available, I prowl about the objectives and try to pick off reds swiftly before they can notice I'm there. To this end I take out the SG for smaller areas and the RR for open spaces. As my focus is on going unnoticed should I just stick with my trusty Gal Scout... or doe the new suits offer something substantial in the way of true assassination?
Or should I give up and run a Cal Assault Lite? |

This pleases me... any great things to say about the best weapons to fit with the cloak? Is there any noticeable difference in how they interact with the cloak? Do all of the new weapons warrant ceaseless QQ or are they okay? Sorry to grill you, I'm excited. |
