CalScout doesn't hit its stride until Level 5. Cloak will be tough to fit until max level, and (IIRC) until max level you'll also need a damp in both of your lows to beat 21dB scans. At Level 5, you'll have plenty of room for a STD or ADV cloak (unless you're stacking shields) and you'll only need one complex damp for sub-21dB profile. So hang in there; it gets better :-)

Meanwhile, depending upon your playmade preference and Mu ranking, you may not always need a sub-21 dB profile. I'd recommend starting off with one damp; if you get the "you've been scanned" message, pull out a loadout with the second damp equipped. Always try to get away with whatever the enemy lets you. If they let you use your second low slot for something other than damps, I'd recommend a KinCat. A little extra speed can get you into position and out-of-trouble faster. If Range Extenders get buffed (down the road) then extra scan Range might come in more handy than extra speed; for now, they really aren't worth the slot. Ferro and Reactive Plates are another solid option especially if you're a Rifleman.

As for weaponry, depending upon the map, I'd recommend pairing Knives with a Rifle or Shotgun with a reliable, ranged sidearm (pre-FoxFour: Bolt, SMG; post-FoxFour: ScP, MagSec, SMG, ASMG).

Min scout falls down when it comes to EWAR. That and you can't really speed tank. Cal scout is an amazing suit, without doing a detailed comparison I'd agree it has more utility.

ran into Xor last night. Stabbed his ass in the back. He shot me. We squaded up once to fight a dom match vs laggy japanese players with officer weapons So now it's not just proto stomping but officer stomping? lolz.

Isn't that just the wrong direction to go if protostomping is an issue? shrug whatever. Was pretty fun. Xor managed to score #1 spot with 1337... though that was pretty funny. I tried out a few different suits but ended up dying like 17 times yet came in 3rd spot for the blueberry team. I just slammed against that officer wall while the blueberries hid in a corner. I have no idea why half of them were even playing.

So can someone explain why the community identifies a problem and then CCP proceeds to do all this work with their 'limited development resources" to make things worse? I thought I was trippin.

I literally have an entire drawer at home full of knives, ranging from small one-bladed pocket knives to throwing knives to big bowie knives. WWI Bayonette is enroute from the folks.... I change up which ones I carry based on my mood and where I'm going. And my outfit - kinda like some people change out watches. Mostly keep 'em tucked away in my pockets so people don't think I'm weird though.... People that know me just assume Matt always has knives. And they are always right, unless I'm at the airport at the time.

My vote is for Scouts United or Nova Knifers United.... I am always happy to squad with folks, though a lot of us like to run solo to make sure we maximize 'hard mode'.....

What has been going on recently, all my dom games were filled with complete newbs.

There was a very good starting channel to have a few patches back. I forgot what it was called, or if it's even still up, but there were quite a few scouts who mentored a bit. I was part of said channel. Can't remember the name. Oh well.

Or just use an already existing channel, like Scouts United.

Played two matches.. if you could call it that, with Xor. Was fun. After three bouts of letting the timer run till about ten minutes searching for matches i join up with xor and we get in a match. praise jaysuz... I start having a great match with a BPO shotty on a dragonfly.. and crash. I get back on just in time for the match o end. rejoin xor.. get into another match. This one of course not as good. But hey I'm playing finally. Annnd stuck at the victory screen.
