I hadn't signed on in almost a week b/c of Thanksgiving and I come back to find that the cream of the scout crop (both Lightning and Marauder) have officially given in. Sad day for scouts. Sad day for dust. But we must press on scout brothers - ps4 doesn't have good games yet and CoD and Battlefield, by all accounts, have become stale and uneventful. There is still hope. |

o7 Shotty. Unofficial Scout Leader. It was never about being the scout with the greatest K/D. It was about leadership and you showed it. I am APPALLED that your work never even received a blue tag... not even to troll.
I agree with the above. I would be down for a boycott, but at this point our numbers have dwindled to the point that CCP might not even take notice. We need to think of an effective strategy. It needs to be large in scale and it needs to be done together - all at once.

Honestly though what were they thinking?! They've been taking us for granted for so long. Then they insulted us with a 6m range "buff" in 1.6 and expect us to sit still for 3 more months before our next "buff". They've given no indication they are working on our issues. I apologize to every other class of player in this game, but you're problems and complaints are weak sauce.
Tankers? I quake in fear at the sight of a militia tank, even in this build.
Heavies? I dare not get near a heavy in my scout gk.0
The worst are medium players who have the GAUL to complain about their suits.
The only class that I feel sympathy towards is DS pilots and their concerns are being addressed at least somewhat in the next update.
The game is so broken right now it is ridiculous. I LOVE what they're doing with factional warfare but am so incredibly sad that I won't be able to participate. I'm finding out that I like to spend more time on the forums than on actually playing the game. I played maybe 6 matches today. All 6 stomps. 5 times I was stomped on by proto medium duvolle-wielding d#uche bags. 1 time I was on the same side as the P.M.D.W.D.Bs and it was miserable. I love this community though.
Scratch that. I love segments of this community. I respect that this community is more mature than say CoD or BF which really don't have communities so much as sandboxes in which people can just be vile towards one another. There is humor here. There is a weird nerd devotion to lore here. I find it rather comforting that the community can rally around individual members when they are going through things in REAL life. Make no mistake, that is unique to a small and dedicated community like Dust. The scout community in particular is terrific. Devoted. Patient. Funny. We know and appreciate that the game is continually in development even as we are neglected and ignored.
But there are elements of the larger community that are just as toxic as CoD/BF/other vanilla shooters. I posted today about some try-hard using a Balac's in a pub ambush against a bunch of blueberries straight out of the academy. I was appalled by him. He went 14-0 and probably felt great about himself despite his unfair SP advantage, his FoTM AR spam and his prototype suit w/ 5x the eHP of most of the individuals on my own team. This sort of player is the poison of Dust 514. Because of the small player base he can't be secluded to matches in which he will face people that will put him in his place and as a result the game as a whole suffers. Scouts, like myself, already at a disavantage, become little more than prey.......
The only reason I'm still here is because, despite the neglect. I love the iterative nature of progress in the game and I love the humor, candor, maturity and relative-sophistication that can be found in parts of the community. We lost Lightning recently, we lost DJINN Marauder recently. We've lost the Scout Kill/Leaderboard - the only one of its kind within the entire community. Hopefully we don't lose another leader like Shotty, because honestly, I'm not sure our tiny sub-community can take it.
For these reasons I am in full agreement that we protest/boycott 1.7. These new weapons look like Kryptonite even to the best scouts. Why waste the isk? When I say boycott I mean boycott. Don't sign on the entire month - maybe then they know we mean business. We would most likely lose members to other games, but that is happening anyway. Why not take advantage of it to make a point?

I'm down for the move to Destiny. I doubt it will have the same level of customization/meta of dust, but its definitely a start

I'll stick it out, but only because I have no inclination to buy any games right now. I've been playing and will continue to play less frequently though. I've got to admit though. If a dev actually looked in this thread, he/she might realize that a whole chunk of the community is about ready to jump ship. |
