It is ineffective against groups of enemies. Even if you kill a scout with a charged bolt to the head, you will have to wait for it to cool down. Plenty enough time for an enemy to shoot you with a militia AR and kill you. Not to mention that if you overheat you take damage and can't even run afterwards. The SCR doesn't even shoot till you let go of the trigger. Can't even distract your enemy with a nade while overheating. The range is pretty bad, what is it, slightly more than an Assault SMG?
The Scrambler Pistol(SCP) is better than the SCR in all ranges? Why is a pistol better than a rifle? Off topic but, why is the Flaylock better than the MD, for that matter? What's going on!?
I'm not sure if this is a glitch or what: When I charge shots to their maximum and shoot at still targets, I will occasionally miss. Though, if I shoot at the same exact spot with a less than half charged shot, it will hit. If the gun actually gets less accurate when charging, that is some BS.
I know the in-game description says the gun is unreliable, but I think we agreed they went overboard |

I have pondered this question ever since my services with the Amarrian Special Forces. I have found two answers. 1: It isn't the gun that kills, it's the person behind it. 2: If there is a defect with the weapon, it is most likely the soldier who is defective.
The best solution in most cases is just to replace the soldier. |

Gonna need to wait and see how damage fall off affects it. Charged shots + damage fall off could give you some decent range on that gun.
I think we can all agree the Core Godlock Pistol is crazy OP.
The assault ScR needs same optimal as gallente AR, that's its big issue. Otherwise it trades damage for dispersion and laughable overheat for high bullet count and hella fast reload times. |

I've been able to kill small groups of enemies with my SR, and I suck at shooting.
Just remember to pace your shots, and make ample use of cover. Either catch them by surprise, or force the enemy to fight on your optimal. When ducking behind cover, let your gun cool, and get a charge shot ready if you think they are going to try to close range on you.
At full charge it's possible to have some one hit kills with head shots. |

Scrambler Rifle is effective against groups with well placed shots.
I would never complain about either variant since both are good and do what intended.
I dunno what you mean about the pistol but the rifle almost always will win me a fight. |

If they don't botch Commandos, which they will, and if they don't botch the weapon falloff system, which I don't think they will; then using a Breach and a Burst will be awesome. Burst is so much fun, and Breach may actually finally be worth a damn with a little more range

I switched from ARs to SCRs. Never been happier.
Scrambler rifle is a marksman rifle, meant to take down targets at mid range, and it is exceptional at that. If you find yourself frustrated with overheating a lot, you are not using the gun correctly. To OP, what you are saying is merely your own opinion, but I have rarely lost a 1v1 gun battle at mid range with the SCR to any AR (post TAR nerf). What you are saying is that the SCR sucks because you can't take out groups of enemies? You must be dense, no matter what gun you have, taking on a group of enemies alone is near suicide unless they are all mlt gear newberries.
The great downside the SCR has is it's close range battle capabilities, which have two different outcomes usually. If someone is close to me in smg range, I use cover to charge a full shot, then peek and unload it as accurately as possible to the chest. Two shots follow up for a kill. The other outcome is I miss the charge shot, and then attempt to pace shots which rarely works vs a close range opponent.
So your whole argument that the Assault Rifles are better than the Scrambler Rifles is absurd. No assault rifle can hold a candle to someone who has a good working knowledge of a Scrambler rifle at mid range. But since the assault rifle is a close range weapon, it naturally excels over a mid range weapon in that area. |

Scrambler rifle has way more range than a pistol or a an AR. May not seem much in numbers but it's actually a big difference (18m max ; 6m optimal)
Duvolle Assault Rifle Max Range: 71m (-16) Optimal Range: 1 - 42m (+3) Meta: 8
Imperial Scrambler Rifle Max Range: 87m Optimal Range: 1 - 48m Meta: 8
Carthum Assault Scrambler Rifle Max Range: 76m Optimal Range: 1 - 30m Very odd knowing that Gallente AR is supposed to be the short range AR type. Meta: 9

It's called random bullet spread. And most FPS use that now.. (sadly). It means that when you aim at a specific point, the gun wont fire exactly on that point but there will be a slight random effect depending on the weapons stats. I dont get why it's so frequently used when good all actual recoil and crosshair shaking is both more realistic, less frustrating and more skill demanding.

I disagree, standard scrambler rifles have their use and are deadly in specific situations. Assault variant live up to AR.

I have never been out shot with an AR when facing a SCR. Heck I didn't even unlock the std AR till last week (only to use the breach AR). Maybe I am dense, though then, you have never seen me go up against 3 proto's at the same time. |

I know the SCR has the best maximum range, though, it does not feel like it. Thanks for stats.
I do not mind random bullet spread, though, I dislike that it is tied to how long you charge it.
I'll agree that the SCR can be useful if you stay away from CQC areas. I guess I am just pissy because I am expecting to use it in the same situations that an AR would be useful (against multiple targets). The full-auto variant is much better, I will agree.
+1 for being helpful.

I was actually playing with some of your corpsmates yesterday. Ask them how much I was beasting with the SR. Taking not 1, not 2, not even 3 people down. I was multi-killing, in whatever range the enemy was in. You just have to get used to It's pros and cons. What's mastered, its deadlier then even the TAC AR.
Protobears on the other hand take some time to take down, but can be done, just no muti-killing. |

Try the ASCR. It gives up the charge ability (good against a single enemy) for a more prolonged fire time (better against multiple opponents). I have a 1.5m SP toon running with an ASCR and its very happy killing things (not mention the sound is more satisfyingly "SciFi-ish" than the AR. |

why the hell would you rush with the single shot scrambler rifle? not many can do it successfully. i have been using the assault scrambler rifle since it released and that thing is amazing. If you are still using the charged it is best to either stick with a squad or find a high ground around the objective, this is where the scrambler rifle excels. |

LOL threads like these make me laugh. Considering I can face a proto heavy head on and overpower them with the dmg from my imp scrambler I think your point is null and void. I OHK any suit adv or lower that is not a heavy (with a full charge). Of course if you are trying to buff the scrambler I will just laugh even more because then my pwnage will become so much better. In reality the ARs were nerfed pretty hard with the tac nerf. It remains to be seen as to whether the caldari/min rifles will be useful but the scrambler is definitly the current pwnage weapon. |
