As an EVE player I generally used to prefer EN 24, (since I used that site long before the Mittani came out)
but I've noticed recently that EN 24 has a STRONG hatred of DUST, and would rather want it to die, painfully.
As such, it's nice to see EVE websites talk about DUST in terms other than "Oh god please die faster so we may all sit around laughing at it."

... and CCP being all silent (massive lack of communication since months)
... is barely doing anything about it

Honestly, I find myself agreeing with the sentiment and the article is pretty solid. However, I'm not under the impression that the game will fail. Really, I just don't see it happening...too much invested.
The problem for me however is eclipsed all the way back with Incursion. And it is oddly enough two-fold:
1. The lack of player feedback, testing, and CCP communication with playerbase causing sloppy and useless results...leading to a riot.
2. The after-effect of the riot on the Company (Often neglected in our own hubris)...we essentially fired appx. 100 staff members from CCP and threatened the rest of their jobs. Spectacular as this was in asthetic, there were a number of staff members who got utterly burnt out and the company on a whole went on the complete defensive towards the community.
The end result is I believe unconsciously whispered in this article and I appreciate it. Take some damn risks CCP, get off the bench and just start breaking ****...but take some notes from Incarna...TELL US, DAMN IT!
All that need be said: "Ladies and Gentlemen, it's time we had the talk. What we have done for the past year or so has laid the groundwork for some unprecedented stuff and we'd like to thank our relentless staff and extremely involved playerbase for making this foundation possible. But it is time we take off the building gloves and give them to you, control is not what we are here for...we are the janitors and you are the creators. By all means, create!"
there are all sorts of problems with this game...but I could care less if they were problems I was allowed to work, explore, learn, adapt, and joke around. I understand the desire internally to become a professional and mature company with a large porfollio of successful games and technology, but I challenge CCP to find that in a world of developers who do exactly with obvious results in gameplay and player freedom...stand apart from the rest. You're not the rest of the world, you're CCP and you dare the impossible...
So take off the gloves and shake things up already! |

The last fitting articles where meh and worse.
But, you know, itGÇÖs hard to write something good about Dust as it is now :).
I'm still asking for a roadmap , so I will know in which period I shall return.

Dust could use a large dose of Butterfly Effect.
You can make up for a lot of bad game play if you can mold it into something engaging. And I don't expect CCP to nail mechanics in any shape or form anytime soon, so they need to stall for time and give us more tools for emergent game play (while they figure out how to make a good FPS).
DUST needs more sandbox for anyone to really care in the long run. |

The unfortunate truth about this article is that people have actually been saying this about DUST for a long time now. A lot of us have stuck around as long as we could bear it because we keep getting all these promises. Its the people that have been around for a year that have been hit the hardest by the lack of progress with the game. At this point there just hasn't been a track record of development triumphs. When the blockbuster titles that are on the way this holliday season hit, as well as titles planned for PS4, DUST will probably get swallowed whole. |

The shame is that this article is coming from one of the LAST few sites still promoting/covering dust. If they are unhappy then I guess ccp has no more online website interest. I know I have changed my site to reflect Planetside 2 on ps4.
The media is even giving up on dust, sad but true. |

And why do people constantly bring up PS2? Go play PS2. Go praise in PS2 forums. It's like the average gamer has to be complaining all the time or game A is much better than game b, while visiting forums of game B to say so. It's stupid. |

EN24 is full of badly written, uninformed shyte, on every subject it covers.
