Personally. I love the game an the style an concePt of it an I feel that the negative bandwagon jumpers are the only problem. All other players seem to have faith an patience, probably because their older an know this is a huge project an honestly ccp probably were trying to draw in such a huge fan base so fast that they let us play it too early with hopes of making it spread fast an grow huge because the idea of making your character unique is a awesome feature. I just want a few priorities fixed an mostly things like -lag if possible -snags on maps an holes that make you have to die an lose a fit. -match making optional -The GLITCHES! Circle of death, game freezes, psn kicks, constant mic problems, taking time every night for squad member resets. I can deal with everything else but if the game worked perfect there would be less complaining, about weapons an everything else. An I think if they pulled this off the the negative elephant in the room would Raman unnoticed because the game would run so smooth all the other problems would have some time bought for them to get fixed. They ll make it work eventually, because they have too so think happy thoughts:) |

From what I know, when EvE came out it sucked too, and got better over the years. So if CCP can improve this game over the years, you'll see it then. |

As I said in another topic...
"The problem with your logic is you are assuming the same outcome will happen with two completely different experiments. Yes, the experimenter (CCP) is the same, but the variables and subject matter are way different.
One is one PC, the other on console. Those markets alone are vastly different.
One is pretty much the only spaceship MMO out there to possibly go to, the other is an FPS, a genre that gets a new game every week. One has no competition, the other has nothing but competition.
CCP cannot do what they did with EVE and expect a success." |

So that is why the game progression is taking sooo long.
Thanks for the education for the masses. Now I can tell everyone why the game is nosediving, due to lack of content.
Its because it takes alot of time just for reload animations.
Thanks again |

It's not.
However, the majority of the replies will disagree for 2 reasons-
It's far more common for people who are dissatisfied with the game to use the forums than people who enjoy it Most people only respond to this thread if they think dust is broken/dying |

the ps3 is terrible to develop for.
ccp have a long roadmap and will most likely stick to their plan, although I read they are going to change the roadmap slightly and bring about changes to the core mechanics first instead. Although they should have been solid even before Uprising.
PS4 won't kill DUST if DUST is on PS4 but who knows. I'd like to come back to this game on a new engine on a new platform and have it thrive like it should do. |

The reason dust is a fail is because ccp believes they can do no wrong. They are jaded and think dust will be a success regardless of the final product. Similar to Kraft foods. Their food is schitt but they make millions on idiots who feed their kids garbage.
CCP is alot like Kraft. Dust bunnies are the red headed fat kids horking up pop tarts. |

A good feedback? Not really no.. An average one at most.. And yeah. I like what CCP are doing and the fact that I-¦m playing the game for free. Starting a thread like this one has no purpose what so ever but still you are here angry because there are people out there enjoying Dust. Are you 12 years old? 13 perhaps? What-¦s going on??
you ignore the facts... he started a few day ago which means at most what 700k sp if he played nonstop? Yep he is just bad because he cant kill proto with militia gear right out the gate without any experience in this game... |

They had a group of some of the best console FPS vets for over a year giving advice since last April.
Didn't help.
On the balance end of things I'd say too much attention paid to metrics and the adjustments we're too much toward the raw stats on weapons and not enough on their actual behavior.
On the actual gameplay side of things - framerates and hit detection used to be worse - but somehow the game was way more fun and playable. That was likely due to the fact that the actual controls were pretty smooth and responsive. That all went out the window with the infamous strafe nerf - the real killer of this game IMO. They couldn't just put a slight 5% touch on the strafe and make the animation reflect a directional change to make the movements seem a little more natural, oh no. They had to go and kill it dead.

Ferren Devarri wrote:DUST wasn't able to run on CCP's Carbon platform, and instead had to be developed on Unreal instead due to PS3 limitations, and by then, they were (I am going to take a shot) already obligated by an exclusivity contract with Sony. This meant a severe crippling of their efforts to fully interlink EVE Online and DUST 514
I'm going to say that all the other development problems have stemmed from that, since DUST has been, technically, in development since they began working on the full-body graphics engine for "walking in stations/ambulation" expansions for EVE Online around 2006 when they first started releasing a few engine demonstrations.
Because it was a dual-purpose development effort, when they ran into the problem that the Carbon Engine couldn't run on the PS3, it crippled both the expansion development and set DUST development back to near-square-one, and now their development teams were split between two very different projects instead of jointly working off the same engine to combine the projects.
So, in the end, we get what we have.
They *might* have better leeway with expanded PS4 capacities for redeveloping DUST 514 for it on the Carbon platform, but even if they were to do so, they've already committed assets and resources to the PS3 release. They need to keep it afloat to make up for the loss/cost, and base that on whether or not they're going to evaluate feasibility for a PS4 release, now that it's obvious that long term PS3 support will not work to their advantage. The fact that they even dreamed of running Carbon on the current consoles bear witness of their poor understanding of their nature.
It's definitely the right thing to run both games on the same engine. They probably know their own engine better too. Too bad it didn't work.

But they better work faster because...

If your expectations are bigger than the game it is going to be a let down.
This is like looking forward to that great movie that comes and out ends up not being as good as you thought it would be.
I think long term players suffered from this effect when we went from being uber powerful in chromosome to being placed back in the ranks of needing to progress in uprising.
Now that it's live let's see if CCP can keep from scaling things back on people... as they don't seem to take well to that. |
