Why do we need to equip more than one turret on eny of the vehicles to be able to use them?Its our damn DS,LAV,HAV.Please don't force us to waste our PG/CPU on things that we don't need.Let the players decide.I dont know how this works in EVE or how difficult it would be to change this in Dust.I just wanna hear what you guys(CCP&the players) think about this.Thanks. |

multi-turret platforms were meant to be crewed by a team, not a single person. Pulling out a tank for a battle has its sacrifices and its benefits. One of those tradeoffs is boots off the ground in order to optimize the vehicles firepower.
That said, they've deemed it appropriate to have to equip guns for your crew to man. |

I totaly agree with you in this,but we are mercs and we do things our way.I'm using vehicles a lot and most of the time its ok to hawe all that firepover.If i'm cruising on the map with my railgun tank than i need those small blasters to keep me safe from infantry,of course.Or if i fly a DS,i got a blaster on one side and a missile on the other side.I just want that option to decide for my self when do i need a second or third turret.This coud be exploited by the tankers who sit on the hill all day of course,to make theyr tanks more powerfull.But thats another topic.No WP for kills from the redzone i say. |

Since the inception of tank mounted cannons, a smaller calibre machine gun has been fitted in tandem to the main barrel. So far as I can tell, the only reason that the R&D boys across all 4 factions haven't done this is because there isn't a two button firing system in this game. Boo-urns.
- Why is there unlimited ammo for HAV's? They could get buffed up for survivability and keep the balance by limiting the ammo supply. A rail tank with only 24-36 shots wouldn't be causing the same stress. They should have to make it to a supply depot, or spend a mod slot for a mobile nanite hive (which would resupply adjacent infantry as well). This would add a lot more depth to tank gameplay.
- Why the hell can't the small turrets track along with the large turret if not being manned independently? It just looks sloppy from an immersion perspective. Also, the independently moving small turret on the front looks stupid and warhammer 40kish.
- The basic 20GJ turrets are pretty crap, except for close-range blasting. Unfortunately, on most types of tank roles, this makes them pretty useless. I remember once when it was almost impossible to snag a tank seat but now people leave them empty.
- Why are small missiles incapable of straight-firing while the vehicle is moving? It's not due to delay they just fire out crooked.
Putting on advanced turrets for my boys would be awesome, but they take up a lot of power, and with the current state of AV power ownage, a deathwish. You can't down a swarm guy doing his job, firing from any kind of decent range or bunny hopping around. FG'ers are miles away and too tanky. Seems like the most a small turret can do is add a bit of dps and point out targets to the driver.
Oh yeah, and they can just sit there and take the assist wp for no reason. It's odd that we don't see this exploited much, and a good thing too, since it would kill HAVing if each tank your team had came along with 2 afkers, which is probably the future of mcc camping.

TLDR:
There's only one kind of tank-role that benefits from having extra turrets, and it's the role that's currently suicide. It is indeed very silly that we must fit out both small turrets, when by their very nature they are accessory. |

I'd glady sacrifice my turret on a dropship for a pure transport vehicle. I'd also give up a turret on a lav or a extra spot for comrades. |

I have never needed small turrets on my rail tank, let alone a missile or blaster tank. It's a huge waste of money, CPU, and PG. Honestly, they're completely pointless and relying on them for defense against infantry makes you look bad. |

There used to be a thread about this a long time ago.
Let me use the seats for transport, instead of letting some random blue shoot at the friendly MCC and the ground for the whole match.
Maybe, just maybe, I would be able to recall my vehicle when I need to instead of being forced to drive around because johnny blue wants to basically AFK in my tank.

I hate stupid gunners sooooo bad. Could you imagine how useful a mCRU tank could be on domination if people would spawn and hop out? Or going to take on turrets/other tanks without the durn blue starting early?That and only once in a blue moon do I have a useful gunner. I would love to take the turrets off, even if blues could still sit there, they would be less of a detriment. For the turrets to track and fire with me when unmanned seems like a pipe dream, wonderful, but less likely than unicorns with rainbow fart guns. |
