We all have heard of the Dreadful Pubstomping, and Many of us have Been on the Receiving Heel of the Boot. Possibly the Most effected of us are the New Players as Protobears crush them with Proto ARs and Boundlesses. What I am Proposing in this thread, maintains that Proto Gear remains on the Top of the Heap, and Minimizes the amount of time fighting over what to base Matchmaking off of.
Perhaps when you Go into Instant Battle, you Select Skirmish, and then it Goes to another Screen which the Choices are...
Academy- Temporary battle Mode, Militia Only, WB OB Permitted so Newberries can Understand how to use to OB, and what it Does High Security-STD and Lower Gear. No OB Low Security-ADV and Lower Gear. WB OB Only. Null Security-Full Gear Access. No OB Restrictions
I Feel this Idea will Resolve the Problem Of Protobears Munching Newberries as they Leave the Academy, and it would Simplify Matchmaking, as any time Someone gets Munched By a Protobear, and Whines on the forums, it can be accrued to choosing the wrong Security level, and keep that Proto Gear is Strong, and lets the New Players Fight on a Level Playing Field, w/o the Odds being stacked against them. |

It won't Make an Exact Level Ground for Play, but it will be 100x better then the Current Matchmaking. there will still be those with a slightly sharper Edge, as opposed to Todays Militia Nerf Swords versus Proto Lightsabers. |

Yes, but if the New Players could evade the Protos then the problems could be avoided without newberries having to deal with them in the first place. |

Or, you could do the obvious and simple thing and seperate the Protobears and the Newberries |

I mean different from what I say.
I'm not saying say here's the newberries, and here's the older players.
This system I suggested lets older players mingle with the newbs, but not totally and utterly waste them with HQ gear.

The performance difference overall is not significant enough to worry about.
The fact that they can pretty much die with no consequence means that even dealing with pubstompers is a learning experience. So, your saying is, that if you went 0/10 for 3 Games straight, you wouldn't just quit DUST and delete it?
And I've seen the Guys on the bottom of the Leader Boards that have gone 0 and 17
And you don't think that that happening for 3 or 4 or even 5 games straight, and the new Militia user isn't going to go "Just **** it, I don't wanna play this Stupid Game anymore!" |

Good Point, it opens up Opportunities for Older Players who have Expensive Gear to be able to use that Gear on a Less Feeble enemy, and Be able to Make a Profit on it.
Plus it will Help with New Player Retention.
Good Thought. |
