One of the more enjoyable aspects of playing Eve is the "roam". A bunch of pilots get together in a group and roam around from system to system looking for a fight. When two such groups stumble across each other, "gud fights" (sometimes) happen.
Once CCP have got the core mechanics and new player experience up to an acceptable level, I'd like to see their next step being the introduction of roaming to Dust.
Take a region (NPC nullsec?) and set a few districts on a few planets in border systems as "gateways": squad leads can spawn their squad at one of these. In each district is a beacon of some sort that lets you move to another district on the same planet. Some districts also have an additional beacon that lets you move to a different planet; possibly even in a different system or constellation.
There would also need to a mechanism to get some idea of the location of other roaming squads so that you can hunt them down for a fight; nothing too precise, at long distances anyway.
Keep the roaming area small at first (a single constellation) and only grow it when it starts getting too crowded.
Hardcore FPS will presumably rage at the idea as being "too RPG", but meh. |

I think we should work a system that doesn't take away yet another potential means of EVE-Dust integration. if EVE players can pilot War Barges, why not allow smaller ships to just carry small groups to other planets? |

Happy for this to build more Eve/Dust integration, but don't let that delay the feature too much. |
