Should they have a small shield covering them so they won't be totally exposed? In real life when someone brings a mounted turret, it is fearsome. Or does the car and turret provide enough shield already? yes or no? |

The car has wheels. Moving target is harder to hit. Are you requesting the ability to plant yourself stationary and stomp? |

Yeah, for a little until he gets overwhelmed by forces, then he can speed off. Don't you feel exposed on a turret? |

In the far far future, weapon engineers didn't realise they could take advantage of a mobile weapon platform with a built in near infinite power source, so they stuck the weakest weapons they could find on them.
The also designed said vehicles, built for warfare, without any protection for the driver and crew. No even a windshield. |

Its not real life, dont expect those rules to apply. Its balanced as a light vehicle, if you want more armor, drive a heavy vehicle. |

True. As opposed to modern LAVs, the ones in Dust514 seem more like a throwback to WWII style LAVs
Personally ... I don't have a problem with that, since a LAV seems more positioned as a light, fast, transport, with the gun as an after-thought, as opposed to a HAV where the gun is primary and the transport part, secondary.
When we get MAVs, I'd expect them to include at least 1 enclosed small turret, then again, maybe not. You risk sticking your head out to shoot from a non-moving vehicle, expect you might get hit. |

Tbh, a thread about making LAVs stronger seems ridiculous. Tell me more about how hard it is for LAVs? |

But the WW2 Lav had a .50 caliber on it a weapon that clould pin down whole plattons of unsupported infantry.
Dust Lavs have weapons that could bearly be described as weapons. The rails aweful hit detection. The light plasma weak damage and aweful hit detection and a dumbfire missile launcher, with awful hit detection, awful spash damage detection, and an inability to fire accurately when moving. And Im not talking player skill Im talking the fact the stupid thing fire at odd unpredictable angles. |

I think it is funny when they stop to swap to the turret and then DIAF as I either insert scrambler rounds into their dropsuit or chuck an AV nade or 3 at them. |

Stopping and becoming stationary to switch to the turret should be a very risky tactic, no mechanic should be added to change that.

I agree, I was just commenting that I thought it was funny when they did that.

I do find it reasonably annoying that if the driver stops long enough for to allow the gunner to actually shoot where I'm aiming (because of location-lag) then one grenade is usually enough to kill the gunner and the driver can wander off.
I do find it appropriate, however, that I can snipe the head of the driver if he sits still just long enough in the right spot. That was an awesome, very rare, shot that should never be nerfed :) |

The turret on LAVs actually blocks hits, so the only way to hit the gunner when they're facing you is a headshot.
Seems fine to me, and I'm in the turret a lot. |
