I believe this game as the capability to be great. Sure there are matches or even entire nights where I rage quite and toss my controller across the room but with every bad night there are also good nights. Yes, there are a lot of issues with the game right now that make most people want to never play again but if you look at what CCP is trying to do and what they have done with EVE, you can tell they are not going to give up.
I personally believe that the company is trying to make a great game with DUST and the only thing that is holding them back is that they are not going as grand as they should be going. The game is simply too small scale right now for it's own good. Look at EVE, it's huge in scope with multiple star systems and different ways to play the game. Instead of trying to make this game more like every other FPS out there they should be taking what they have in EVE and applying it to DUST.
Give this game more freedom and room to breath. Instead of locking us to small maps on planets that always look the same, allow us to have a more direct feel to the universe. Why not let us attack or defend space stations or areas that would affect both games since they are supposed to be the same universe. I know it's pointless to talk about how this should be changed or reasons why such and such is bad, or this needs to be changed. It's all going to keep changing and more things will continued to be added. It's not about the blitz sale for CCP. They are looking for retention and the hardcore players that will continue to come back again and again. They have shown with EVE that given time they can create greatness.
So yes, I have faith in DUST and CCP. I will continue to play and work on being a badass mercenary even though right now they game is rather flawed. To me, this game is simply an unfinished product that needs a lot of polish and the rest of the content it deserves.
To everyone that will not stop QQ'ing on the forums I say this from the bottom of my heart. By all means, if you don't like the free game your playing... LEAVE. If you can't stand people using every ability available or using tactics other then running around bunny hopping... LEAVE. Find a game that you enjoy and have fun since your clearly not having any with DUST.

You know you get listened to here, unfortunately. I totally agree with you, mind you. I am, like you are, aware of the issues in DUST but we're also aware of the great things it does too. But the people here don't want that. They want blind hatred because... well who knows? Claiming they're helping out when asking for absurd things that benefit no one.
Expect rage for this post, just because the people here can't possibly have their wall of anger sullied by a positive post. You'll be accused of all sorts, but all I have to say to you, good man is: Well done. Keep playing, keep having a blast, and I recommend you just forget the general discussion forum exists, the angry children won't ever leave. Goodness knows why... It's slowly turning into a cesspit of circle-jerking 'Good ideas'

Well, I don't -not- have faith in CCP. Future of Dust is uncertain though.
For what it's worth I appreciate what they've tried to do, will hopefully continue trying to do.
Needs it's core fixing badly. Been a long time needing a properly designed game mode, focused, strategic. Giving vehicles a solid role within it. It has suffered for not getting that yet, will suffer more the longer it remains non-existent. If it does get that then things will finally be on the up and up.
Here's hoping it's 'when' it gets that, not 'if'. |

If they would let me, I would. I would study code writing at night and work during the day just to be able to get my hands in the game to try and straighten it out. Right now it's kinda wibbly wobbly.... timey whimey.... |

A lot of us who are really hard on the devs and the game it self have faith in it. Me being an example. |

I don't ... bad core mechanics and community.
Out of 30+ matches I played today, my team only won 4.
Most matches went literally horrible, 1/4 of the team was behind the red line when the match started and stood there sniping until the end, 1/4 was AFK at the MCC from the beginning until the end, 1/4 were calling free LAVs to murder taxi, the remaining 1/4 was trying to capture objectives just to be protostomped by 6+ people... This is shouldn't even be called a FPS neither an MMO, seems to me that is just a grinding game were you must do nothing but AFK to win because there is no way you could win it by playing alone, before people start with the "it is meant to be a team effort join a copr" if that is th case I doubt I would stay in this trash game.... "give me your stuff" I will leave my account and might sell it later on to some ******** newbie,.. "HTFU" that's what I told to CCP and they got my forum account banned just for saying the some facts to CCP Shangai and the failure of game they just made... "you need a corp" to get taxed? to be just another player with a bunch of non-factors that when a match gets rough they all sit inside the MCC?... get more SP sure I see how well it works for most of the community just AFK and earn ISK too... heck I am literally done with the game and I am glad I never paid a dime for it. |

As long as it's on PS3, I don't think this game can really shine. The system just isn't capable of doing what you're talking about here. |

You know I've never seen another game post so heavily to try to recruit another game.
I've played PS 2 on the PC, with the best graphics, and I am fairly certain it will only look shittier on a PS4, since I my desktop is fairly high end.
Perhaps the reason you are trying so hard is because you never can find people playing? According to unofficial counts, yes, your game has more players than DUST, but it's spread across 9 servers, the highest population of which pales in comparison with DUST numbers even during it's non-peak hours.
Of course you have to use unofficial player counts because no game out there has the balls to show their current player counts aside from DUST and EVE online.
I even took you up on that offer, on a whim and played PS 2 the other day. I didn't run into any big fights, ran around ghost capping everything, and noticed that just about every weapon I could buy was another bloody Assault Rifle that cost me $5. When I did get into gun fights, yeah my aiming didn't bug out on me (I'm a terrible shot) but it didn't feel exciting, or even fun compared to what I've been playing in DUST. The ONE fight I had that could even be called that was on one large installation, so for all intents and purposes I played on one little map smaller than an average DUST map, because I couldn't care less about what the rest of the continent was doing. (it was ghost capping)
The ONLY thing it had going for it was that I didn't get run over by a LAV... until I got hit and killed by one of those dinky little bikes. Then I quit because it lost the only advantage I felt it had over DUST. Perhaps if you love PS 2 so much you should head over to that game and ask for some new maps, or perhaps a new class. Good luck with that.

This game has been running on faith and belief since its inception... That's not something it can do indefinitely. So let's just see what happens over time. |
