Why can't dust be like this?
Timely patches, complete patch notes, and all in one place.
It's hard to believe the night and day between eve and dust. Whoever got eve into such good shape should be tasked with doing the same for dust. I mean, could you imagine being able to go to page like this and every damn day see improvements being done along with major bugs being fixed.
When can this happen with dust? |

They are releasing major patches every month starting from July.
Also, SONY needs to test every patch before they can push it. |

A) I heard. We shall see. I can't really think of a time when things haven't gotten worse, or nothing had been done at all, or weird priorities muddled what should have been done. etc. etc. Regardless of all that, even 1.2 due in early July has zero patch notes, or plans out side of foxfour's little knowledge bubble of only what he is doing, meanwhile the silence from the people who should be addressing severe bugs remain silent. so who knows what is really going to be in 1.2, 1.3, etc. Again- check out that link and then tell me where you can find something equivalent on the dust side? That's right. you can't. Now do you comprehend my post? yea? no? Need some time? Maybe you can call a friend to walk you through it?
B) So schedule around it. Do a weekly patch. not a bi-yearly. it's not a big deal to set up a patching schedule way ahead of time, FYI. Not a big deal, and doesn't excuse the dichotomy of quality we have going on here. |

lolz. WTF are you talking about?
You don't want to see dust succeed? Get better?
shrug. it's not whining- it's a clear cut example even you should be able to grasp as to how unprofessional the dust development has gotten. The eve side does it very well. Can't someone make a phone call within the company? |

I agree here. We need more clear and concise patch notes.I STILL don't know why all my tanks went over on Power Grid the after the Extended downtime the other night, other than it was an un-documented and un-communicated change no one asked for. |

No they don't~ That was one of the big deals they made with Sony about getting this game on the PS3. Usually they would yes, all patches would pass through the Submissions department in Liverpool, but DUST gets a wavier and is all done by CCP. |

Passing certificates through sony seems to be more of an excuse for ccp, as other devs dont complain about certs, as it usually takes only a few days. Seems to take weeks with ccp. Maybe they are doing something wrong? Or just lying to us. |

When no one whines on this forum the game is massive trouble as it means no one even cares or is listening anymore. And I suspect this is happening already. |

Perhaps they should pass them through Sony, then we wouldn't be getting bugs that force hard resets of the PS3, potentially bricking your console. Then again, its Sony so maybe that wouldn't help. |

An old PC game being ported to a new console? Meh, Planetside 2 was boring a year ago, and it'll still be boring in a year when it finally limps onto a console. |

@dustin
I don't agree. PS2 looks like Disney on dust. They are trying too hard to be what dust wants to be. In theoretically beating them to the punch, they didn't deliver and frankly, it's a lame concept anyways.
sorry. I'd rather stick with the ****** dust than that POS PS2.
If that doesn't tell you what a fail PS2 is, then consider the fact you're trolling a site of your competitor. That's not only a sign of an instant loser in the market. It shows you know your product is inferior and you are the tagaloong lil kid wannabe trying to make a short term buck. ps2/3 won't last more than another couple years.
IF dust crashes and burns, it will be long after PS2 does. Even if CCP doesn't institute even one small change from this second on. That's how bad PS2 looks, and will no doubt do. BF4 is probably PS2s biggest threat in the short term. Go troll their forums. Dust already has PS2 beat. Even in its current state.
take care.
And good luck! |

Keep in mind EVE (which I love) only has major expansions every 6 months. One Summer, one Winter. It follows the rule of two (a year). It as a few patches in the meantime but nothing quite so major as adding ships, or anything other than fixing bugs and other smaller balance details.
DUST has come out with an expansion sided build (Uprising) in May, which did have a large list of new items and features. (no matter what some may think of the quality of which) Now it is promising another large scale patch in July, and a few rapid fire updates in the coming weeks, which should see new suits, new nodes for maps, and of course some bug fixes and the like, as well as new features (such as transfer of currency).
Dust will probably keep having smaller updates on a less regular time scale (read: As they finish writing / stop those seg faults) until it can get to the point where it can manage to only have a couple of large Expansion releases a year.
(Dust does need a better better quality to their writing of patch / expansion notes though) |

That is seriously only relevant if they delivered a non-buggy incomplete project.
Since they only deliver a buggy incomplete product so far, I think it isn't even worth comparing it to eve.
Really, that is like comparing the sims to BF3 at this point. |

Considering I see things I am not supposed to talk about and making this statement in regard to 1.2 makes you wonder doesn't it? |
