When is this happening? I just lost 2 dropships to a forge gunner on line harvest who covered the whole map from the tower by C's CRU. I lost the first, called in a second, killed him and his drop uplinks, and then he snuck up there while I was occupied with other things and got me again. I took the hint after the second one and stopped calling them in.
I generally think forge guns are very balanced to dropships (however this one was punching all the way through my effective 3390 shield and getting into my armor in one shot), but they shouldn't be able to hit the whole map from one position. No, don't nerf their range, just make the maps bigger. |

This would make the game 20x better IMHO.
Then the game could slow down a bit and actual tactics and tide turning can happen. This game is WAY to fast to have any form of real tactics come to light besides attack, defend and patrol |

Sounds like you just got schooled by a really good forge gunner. I don't want the maps expanded without more vantage points being opened up, so -1. |

Definately need bigger maps.
But we need an increased player count on maps first. Otherwise we will be fighting on the big empty. |

I don't think lag in dust is cause by amount of users.
Also denser isn't nesscerily a good thing. Would be nice to have some open space for some vehicle fun. Tank columns with LAVS and CAS would be awesome. I would like all environment types supported with larger maps. |

Lol, considering the fact they gave us like a 100' weapons range, I doubt we are going to get bigger maps soon. Maybe next patch we will get a 20'x20' box to fight in so ranges won't be such a problem. |

Would make for some epic D6 Air Cav ops.... btw is training for that ever going to start up again? |

Because dropships would be nearly impossible to destroy, unless you had 6 ADV+ Swarm Launchers shoot them simultaneously, AND all hit. They'd just run away, far out of range, until they regenerated. |

Yes and Hitting a Dropship More then once basically turns it on its head and makes it crash an Burn into the Ground. your argument is now Invalid, please take another ticket. |

Large maps have to come no matter what other wise there wont be any MMO element. I kinda disagree with "forge guns are ballanced against dropships" statement. They deal so much damage in one shoot and require less skil (WTF) yeah milita ones and the low sp ones are tankable of you have strong armor/sheild. However these are standard dropships and are gonna keep getting ****** no matter what. I'm still confused on why ccp make us have turrets (like many say "dropships are meant to transport", well if it's required to have turrets and cost us pg/cpu why not just go attack mode? Funiest thing i heard but i dont remmeber where but it goes like "dropships are meant to take troops in/out of hot zones" I laughed hard when i heard this. Pilot Dropsuit is coming out soon Hopefully it's help us pilots to do some really good stuff out in the field. |

Before you want something like bigger maps and more players, maybe you should give the developers time to polish the game so that it runs smooth on the "small" maps we currently have with 32 players. Before that doesn't work perfectly you wouldn't have fun with bigger maps and more players anyways. |

The moon probably has a bigger surface area then the total Map.
I just think that those other maps on the map are other installations that the District has.
And the above of the quoted, if squad level tactics are easier to manage, then that is a personal tactical management issue. |

Arma 2 has possibly the biggest map in a shooter, and provided the commander tells you where to Go for attack, then you reasoning is made invalid |

Thats why swarm missiles should go faster and have their turning reduced. Then you would have the range and if they came in range they couldn't run. With turning reduced DS could try to dodge, but this would make them stay in range for forge guns longer =D
Bigger maps sounds cool though. |

NO. I dont give a crap if you cant move fast enough to dodge a forge-gunner. Maps are already big enough for us CQC specialist to run from point to point. |

A dropship just has to sit there and take it because it can't move far enough away to get out of the attackers firing line/ range

Then what we need it options for rapid redeployment. Have you considered biomassing as a strategic way to move from point to point? |
