I've killed a number of proto Logi suits (Caldari ones even), and probably other less easily identifiable high level suits with my relatively cheap fit (Amarr Assault A-1, Standard Scram, 2 Militia Dmg Mods, Nanite Injector, Militia Armor Rep, Grenades) using just my Scrambler. It takes quite a few more shots to bring them down, but even at full hp, if you can get the drop on them, or get in a few good head shots (especially a charged head shot) then you can take them down.

Me too. Skinweave Caldari Assault, Basic light damage mod x 1, Exile Assault rifle, Basic SMG, Basic AV grenades, and Basic catalyzer. I'll not go into the tears I've harvested in my all militia forge set up.

However, I certainly don't use an AR. Forge gun, shotgun, grenades, sniper rifle etc. sure. If you're playing anyone even remotely decent, you simply can't eat through there shields before you're dead. Sneak up on a guy, and it's a completely different story though. ...and MAN are shotguns cheap. = ) I can lose 50 of those suits before I approach the cost of my proto.

That cuts you dpc significantly, an important thing when going proto hunting. The extra .7 damage is nice though, but not enough to make up for the short clip.

If you don't have enough SP, your proto suit is as good as any other gear. So how much did your opponent have HP? Did you kill them going one-on-one and he had full health when you started? Or did you shoot them in the back with two other guys? I kill plenty of proto suits but generally the people wearing them do not have the SP it takes to make them worthwhile. When you actually face one that has a good amount of SP under their belt you can come and brag here.
