As the title says the forge gun is the best and here's why:
1. You can one shot starter LAV. This can really rack up the WP it the other team is stupid enough to keep spamming them.
2. You can one shot infantry regardless of how much shields/armor they may have. Given that the aiming is off in this game, being able to simply one shot someone is a great way to avoid unnecessary deaths.
3. If you do happen to miss, the splash damage will most likely take away most of their shields and armor, so you can simply switch to the sub machine gun and finish them off.
The only problem I have found with using the forge gun is that sometimes the round seems to pass through the enemies body and does no damage. |

Not really the best weapon cause of this:
You need a fatsuit which limits your mobility and you have no equipment at all.
if you miss your first shot and he is face to face with you then you are dead meat.

I find that forge gun puts HMG in their place. Never have I've seen a HMG run scared for his life with any other gun. |

The Heavy benefits from more HP. If I miss the first shot, I just switch to the SMG and take them out. Most of the time I come out on top. |

This is one of the main reasons I started using it. I got tired of getting mowed down by HMGs and run over be LAVs |

Try it out. You will see what we are talking about. Just make sure you have a good side arm in case you miss that first shot. |

Um, Ignatius, I'm sure youve played with some of your fellow Imperfects and some other top tier players. A lot of their go to weapon is Forge Gun in pub matches. Is it great on a level ground, not amazing, no, but it can still do decent, and yes, roof camping with it is insane.
Forge gun really is the best gun in the game. Its the only gun that is good against infantry and vehicles. A forger on high ground is easy mode, especially if you can use a pistol to one shot fools who try to come get you. And its obviously the only AV gun worth a damn.
Put some kincat mods on your fat suit for vehicle hunting...the natural 1K EHP from skills is good enough. |

I agree it's the best weapon. Mainly because it's the only weapon that can one-shot fully-decked out prototype-grade dropsuits in public matches with little to no investment, and can play area denial on vehicles to boot, little ISK and SP cost to cause infinite grief and make people flush millions of ISK down the toilet. That's why I love using it.

Not just the forge, all guns seem to do this. It's more noticeable with slow fireing or semi auto guns.

I kill forge gunners all the time. I'm glad that they can do so much damage, because no matter how much DPS they put out, if I have my railgun trained on 'em, I can take them out in one shot. |

Currently in the process of doing that with my alt. The plasma cannon would be beast if it didn't take so long to reload. The splash damage on that thing is fantastic. |

True...But what if you come up against a squad of forge gunners? I'm guessing it would be your worst nightmare. Especially if you run a gunnlogi. |

WAI? Working as intended. That is how forge gunners are supposed to operate. If an organized squad of FGs can take out my Madrugar, then /slowclap to them. |

My fellow imperfect forge gunners generally have a few other imperfects watching their fat backs as they redline people.

its a trade off heavies run for cover and any assault and scout worth their salt run at you for the free kill, i am less then 1-and-1 for HMG heavies, I am like 10/1 against forge heavies. |
