As I said in the other thread: PROPOSE the Weapon Balancing changes, dont make them. If it has to wait until Uprising 1.3 then by god do it, but dont release those changes without our initial feedback. You will be repeating the same mistake youve made every time by making unnecessary or over-the-top changes that will have to be corrected again later on. |

There are some extremely intelligent players in this game, letting them sink their teeth into numbers is actually one of the best things CCP could do.

We've already played and tested with all the weapons and know what should be done. Not to mention we'd most likely asking for everything to go back to chromosome levels except TAC AR's and Viziam Laser Rifles. |

And yet they actually state in promo videos and interviews that they listen to the players.
Also players have a different perspective from developers.
Jervis Jonson the famous Games Workshop game developer who created the award winning boardgame bloodbowl has never won a game against a player. He admitted himself it's because players tend to dissect stuff to find efficiency in order to win, while developers can't seperate themselves from the big picture.
Both perspectives are required to produce a balanced, fun game. Developers ignore player input at thier peril. |

I am not saying they should not listen to us, just that they should listen to us after we have experienced the changes so we actually have something valid to express other than our concerns based on stats. |

Im not saying that we shouldn't continue to give feed back after implimentation.
But I think players looking at the numbers, especially those particular bookist players who actually enjoy using spreadsheets. I think that sort of process allows for the player to check stuff that maybe the developer missed. And prevent over buffing and over nerfing.
+1 to you for the civilised debate. |

Well maybe if it was loosely translated they could be considered 'balancing'
I see it more of a quality of life improvement with the guns.
I mean you guys all know about the new bullet falloff and resolving the bullets suddenly disappearing at short ranges thing since fanfest.

How would letting us give our feedback on proposed changes be any kind of an issue at all? People are going to ***** and complain either way, at least this way there might be a little bit of usefulness to it, since CCP has a habit of overlooking very simple things that many of us could / do notice right away.
It's ok, I literally cannot take this game seriously anymore, it's actually bad for my health. |

I think that the game is good. Its bring a blend of specialization , customization and team play. With that said, CCP does listen to us. A lot of what we think are hot fixes or easy fix, are not really a fix. I agree there are alot of problems , I emphasize heavily , dust is a game of time spent. Things are rough for everyone right now, but in the coming year it will be better. I suggest build isk , reach your cap weekly and take dust day by day. |

I think as well illuminating any future developments, a wee list of even potential changes will clear away some of the stagnation players are feeling, real or imagined.
It can't hurt.
Any progress is better than no progress.
The Dust Devs should definately take a leaf out of the eve dev play book and start forum threads based on potential changes. (in ref to CCP Rise, ship balancing threads).

I assume the OP was referring to balance changes in existing weapons rather than any new weapons. If that is the case then we can offer valid and constructive opinions on how CCP is changing the balance of these weapons if we had any information on how they were changing them.
Obviously any new weapons that currently do not exist will need to be tested first before offering up advice. |

I agree, any new avenue of communication would hopefully have a calming effect. They should hire 1 or 2 people whose only job would be to translate information to us on the regular. |

Well CPM gets to see many things before you guys do hence the whole NDA thing. I see only one thing worth getting numbers early for and that would be the new range system. I wished there was a blog on that alone. |

Prototype gamemode, that has changes before the rest of the game.
Similar to how we played domination for a while as a event before it went live. |
