I use packed AV nades on all my dropsuits and bait LAVs for free kills, I'm just stating whats going to happen. For those who didn't play in closed beta, militia dropships were used to squish much like LAVs are being abused now. So CCP made dropships difficult to fly and increased their collision damage. All this LAV abuse WILL lead to a change in their mechanics. |

Then again I'm playing Death Race 514 and my I-FG still takes out regular LAVs nicely. stlcarlos989 wrote:All its doing is giving CCP more reasons to nerf LAVs. Or Buff AV. Regardless LLAVs are the new easy mode and taking CCPs historic hate of them into context the entire situation is beyond hilarious. Bad as this may be it reeks of karma. You must be joking. You have proto AV and we have STD tanks. AV already got a buff. Tanks need a buff. LLAVs should be powerful, or theyre not worth skilling into. Why don't you vehicle haters HTFU and adapt or die like the tankers did when you nerfed us.
Look at it like this, are LAVs being used in the manner CCP intended? If CCP wants them to be used primarily for roadkill then no change will occur, If not then they will be adjusted to meet their intended role. |

Benari Kalidima wrote:Are people seriously again arguing that LAV's shouldn't be nerfed when it comes to collision damage? I've never been in a LAV that has more kills by the gunner than the driver. As someone said in a previous thread
"the bumper shouldn't get more kills than the gunner".
AV's are pretty good, but there's no way you can avoid being hit by those logistics LAV's. They can tank a decent amount of damage even almost as much as a tank. You can't jump over a LAV. You can't sidestep it. It only has to poke you for you to die. It shouldn't be this way.
Thats because people are only fitting their LAVs to run people over, But I've been an LAV gunner and gotten 20+ kills. A prototype blaster with damage mods on an LAV is awesome but I only know one guy who does it. He tells his gunner to wear a heavysuit and he drives it so that his gunner is in a good position to get kills, he even drives it up stairs to get next to objectives. |

I used to do this with a friend of mine. I think he was using a standard LAV fitted with a prototype blaster, but that was before Uprising. My best score was 47-0 (50 if you count the three kills I got by taking out a tank with my forge gun). What's this player's name? Maybe we're talking about the same person.

Dynnen Vvardenfell wrote:Simple fix: Whenever a LAV of any kind runs into a player the LAV takes damage equivalent to the shields and armor the player has. That way people can still try to run people over, but theres a cost.
Wow that is actually the perfect solution, its Newton's 3rd Law When one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to that of the first body.
Its simple physics CCP time to implement |
