Huge mistake... Huge Whoever had the idea that matchmaking, PVE, and tutorials shouldn't be a top priority should be thrown under the bus too.

Not asking for what the reasons are specifically, but does this mean that you know something about this that we don't? Again, not prying for information, but if they have reasons aside from "5/14 would be a cool day", that'd be nice to know. Yeah, I have my own theory's as well too. If you have anything you can safely state on the subject, it'd be nice to know it wasn't all about that cute release date.
How about "stroking upper management ego"?
Surely not.

Pretty close actually. I've been saying it all over the forum, but CCP Shanghai feels like :greedisgood: all over again.
It's just a gut feeling, but that's scary enough in and of itself.
Someone please prove me wrong. |

Iron Wolf Saber wrote:Depends on your view of yourself once you become a CPM. The whole idea of needing a dropship pilot or tank pilot is very silly because there is so much that the CPM doesn't really touch on. Sure in our idle time we help out with the Thread Hunting on possibly missed ideas or concerns (which is why I am beginning to hate bad posters because they're really hurting the game the most as they drown out the real stuff CCP or CPM is after.) and also being well versed in an aspect helps out with certain aspects of feedback but rarely does that expertise needs tapping on less so than the experience and familiarity of the people and the potential responses to changes.
For example one minor small but awesome feature of the 1.2 I have highlighted as probably the best new feature being added in 1.2 has nothing to do with anyone being experts in anything. Yet being players in the game has made all the CPM know how important that feature is.
I mean I would love to update you guys more often but I am restricted to what is or has not been said yet by developers most of the time. All I can do is point out broken and obvious stuff that somehow managed to scrape through the developer's own reading of the forums and they don't miss much which says quite a bit considering how often I trawl through the forums.
Instead of trawling through the forums for useful threads, why not encourage more devs to post (and sticky) pre-release feedback threads. Have the devs outline the change they're in charge of, then ask for first glance feedback. Then once it hits the server, iterate if required before moving on.
A test server would be a great tool for this too. |

That would be one of the community representatives' tasks; unfortunately there's no solid replacement for having the actual dev making the changes on hand, reading and replying to his/her own thread. |
