I'm afraid they won't let us do any respecs in Uprising 1.2 even when 2 new suits and maybe new weapons are getting released. Respec means you get those for free if you want them, because there's no need to grind, therefore not buying boosters to get them quickly, therefore no money for CCP.
This is for us vets with +10 mil SP which already have a proto suit/weapon or vehicle specialization, and there's no need to grind anymore unless we want another specialization (ie. Commando) or weapon. They want us to grind again to get those sweet new things. Also applies to guys that got their specialization nerfed. In other words HTFU and gimme money.
in that case their is no reason to grind at all when hitting 15 mil as you can pretty much max out all core skills in a specific suit an weapon class....
So really your argument doesn't even make sense...
Also it assumes people will prefer new weapons over older weapons...
Respecs=Replayability
No Respecs=No Replayability
No Replayability=a terrible online player base.... |

Replayability = only by buying boosters to get new shiny weapon fast.
still takes the same amount of time in reality, a proto weapon costs about 620,000 sp, which is still going to take you around 2 weeks with or without boosters, maybe a day or 2 difference with equal playing time for someone with a booster vs one without
and that's without any much need proficiencies, figure atleast level 3 to get a good idea of what the weapon could do and that's another week of grinding, so really almost a month to get a new weapon to see if you like or don't like it, then after a month of grinding it gets nerfed and your back to square one.
Absolutely no reason to not have respecs after each patch/build |

an FPS should play, then give us that 100% passive and you'll see how fast these servers go dark :/ [/quote] Actually, outside of the Academy (with maybe a 100,000 WP requirement to graduate) I don't want Dust 514 to have respecs. The only reason I support respecs right now is because many of us were baited and switched due to bugs, skills not working as intended, frequent changes, and ninja nerfs. If things were properly balanced, players had the ability to actually test drive what they like to a degree and things were fair and balanced, I would be spouting "Welcome to New Eden, Adapt or Die, blah, blah, blah..."

This game is always going to do that
Welcome to New Eden, "Ask for nerfs or die." |
