Should I purchase dropsuit upgrades, comm links, shield enhancers? I usually just get guns and die in a blaze of glory. |

Choose whatever play style you prefer. The aim is to get to the top of the leader board while loosing as little Isk on your fittings as possible. At least if your main priority is to earn maximum Isk.
If you do not care about dying, killing or your position on the leader board then just run starter fits as everything you earn will be profit.
However, you will want to balance your skills and fittings at some point. |

You will fairly quickly unlock weapons and gear that will cost enough ISK that you start losing money per match. |

BPOS? What's that?
And another thing I've been meaning to ask:
How do you heal people? Do you get points for it as you would for a kill? |

If your not mad for getting lots of kills, running AV can be a safe bet. Stick to the back of your squad/ engagement and spank AV fire in the general direction of enemy lav/hav/turrets/ds/supply depots.
Is a satisfying game style, restricts the enemy advance if your switched on and if you have a forge gun you can even snipe enemy infantry but always try and stick at the back or atleast behind your fellow infrantry man for protection. |

BPO's mean Blueprint Original. They are AUR items that never go away. So you can buy one and it will last forever. IE, the Raven is a Caldari Assault Suit that has the same stats as a base Caldari Assault Suit, costs 19.8k AUR as a one time purchase, but can be used infinitely.
I have found that ISK be based on WP and percentage of WP you have on your team. Back in Chromosome, there was an utter stompfest I experienced. My Spawn Uplinks got me like 650 WP, which was more than everyone else combined by about half. The game lasted maybe 4 minutes. I got like 315k. |

wp earning in this game is messed up.
Logi repping will earn you more wp and isk than doing anything else. |

Unfortunately, until this is adressed by CCP, this is 100% accurate. |

1) equipment you buy that lasts forever
2) With the repair tool, its an equipment item, you get points based on a heal after a certain period of time and you get points if the person you healed kills someone |

1) equipment you buy that lasts forever, it is based on a currency that costs real money, but its well worth it once you find your play style
2) With the repair tool, its an equipment item, you get points based on a heal after a certain period of time and you get points if the person you healed kills someone |

I normally run militia/standard fits. They aren't the strongest fits to compete with, but I have to die over 10 times to lose isk in a match. It's also good for your gun game and tactics building because it forces you to compensate for using crap gear.
I always dump my SP into the skills that give passive bonuses to armor and shields. But depending on your play style, you may want to consider the other options.
Good luck and best wishes grinding for isk. |

I generally run BPO fits when I want money, waiting for skills to level, or looking on the wrong side of a proto stomp. If you do not want to buy BPOs with real money then go for a STD fit with maybe an advanced weapon like the GEK as the AR only cost 10k Isk.
If you have good twitch reflexes and quick to get on target then put damage mods on your suit instead of shield extenders but if they are not then go for the extenders.
If your gun game is rubbish then your best bet is Logi as you can earn a lot of WP if you are part of a decent team who are able to hold and take positions. If you are part of a weak team that is constantly getting roled then do not spawn as Logi as you will be dead within seconds. A Logi needs to be able to function "just" behind your squad and or team and if they can not defend you then it is just an exercise in frustration and if you are running an Isk fit on a Logi then it gets very expensive very fast.
Of course at the moment you can always go do the caldari Logi route as it makes for a very good Assault suit unless it gets nerfed. |
