Also- that there will be a lot more consistent information coming out so that you all will know what we are doing on a week to week basis and will feel like things are getting done. Again, nothing that we are doing is a simple fix - our goal is to make a game that you guys like while also working within the parameters that we have.
I completely understand your frustrations, but what I can do is get you the information. As for the fixes, those are also on the horizon. So feel heard! I hear you! :D And I agree!

What parameters are restricting you? Do you mean you have parameters that you have to work within at CCP so you can't share what you're working on with us, or do you mean you have some sort of parameters imposed by Sony not allowing you to create a passable FPS?
In either case saying that you are "working within the parameters that we have" is pure lip service BS, and you know it.
Honestly, people are willing to forgive when someone legitimately apologizes for a mistake- and Uprising in DUST 514 is a HUGE mistake. However, when you try to make empty excuses for why you fail (such as "working within the parameters that we have") then people will eat you ALIVE. You should know better than most- from having dealt with a game in EVE that has trolling at its core- that you should NEVER give someone more reasons to criticize you when they already have so very many.
So, CCP- GET THE **** TO WORK buttercup :) |

Post constructively. Negative feedback can be very useful to further improve DUST 514 provided that it is presented in a civil and factual manner. All users are encouraged to honestly express their feelings regarding DUST 514 and how it can be improved. Posts that are non-constructive, insulting or in breach of the rules will be deleted regardless of how valid the ideas behind them may be. It is incredibly important that we as a community know exactly what CCP is working on and planning to change in the game. CCP has wasted far too much time fixing things that aren't broken and consequently breaking more things by implementing "hotfixes". For example when CCP tells us they are implementing a hotfix to give LAVs far more health it would've been very apparent to anyone who plays this game more than 10 hours a week that it would create Murder Taxi 514-which is what we have now.
Another example, when CCP first tried to implement Active Omega SP Boosters my first question was how would they interact with boosters that were already active- would they supersede them, replace them, buff them? CCP did not see this issue until release day, and hence had to cancel Active Omega Boosters- thus wasting time- time that could've been saved if they allowed the community to know about their plan, and time that could've been spent fixing much more important things, such as aiming, hit detection, and lag.
So, CCP the reason we need to know what your plans are is so that we can tell you about the collateral damage your hotfixes will cause before you waste time creating them. Furthermore, you waste even more time fixing those unforeseen consequences even though those consequences would be very obvious to the player base and would've been easily avoided if you had just been more straightforward.
We know you have 8 million ideas that you hope to implement in the future- and that's the problem, you are not focused on what you need to be focused on, you're not focused on the most important game-breaking issues. Let the player base know what you are working on in the next update- which will probably be too many things at once- and we will focus you in on the important features and let you know how to implement them most effectively. |
