currently you have 2 options for taking out lav's. kill the driver or blow the thing up. fair enougth
well thats all well and good unless he is in a heavy suit weilding a heavy machinegun. shoot the driver and he has enougth ehp to just carry on regardless, blow the vehicle up and he just jumps out and kills the guy who blew it up then calls in a new free lav
heavys are meant to be slow heavy damage and lav's are meant to be fast with bad damage. combine the 2 and these things are damd near indestructable. i have dodged lav's many times only for a heavy to jump out and mow me down and then just jump back in and drive off looking for the next guy to run over.
i have no problem tbh with people running people over. we can jump behind walls, barriers, box's etc and the threat is minimised giving me an opportunity to either shoot the driver in his seat, when he switches to turrets or when he dismounts or he just drives off. but when a heavy does this he always has the upperhand. he stays mounted and drives away, he jumps on the turret and fires back with relatively no risk due to high ehp or he dismounts and kills you with his heavy machinegun. if your a heavy yourself he mows you down by ramming you as you cant dodge nothing. if your in any other suit then your just dead either way.
there is a big imballance there which needs to be fixed somehow.
my suggestion is make heavys unable to drive any type of vehicle. they would then have to rely on others to speed them across the map and drop them off. they should not be allowed to 1 man army their way through every game |

Make it cumulative too, one Heavy should slow it down a little, three should make a significantly noticeable difference.
id settle for 1 heavy slows it down to the point that it is not capable or enougth damage to kill a reasonable fit player with 1 hit at full speed. gives the person hit a fighting chance
and if its cumilative it would stop those squads of heavys taking points with ease like they currently do. or just add a mass to heavy suits and add a mass limit to lav's |

i just want some ballance. previously you had long range/high dps and then they nerfed the range so you all jumped into lav's to get in close. thats fair enough
but when people just roam around in lav's with an aim to run people over and then if they cant they just dismount that high dps at close range then there is no ballance.a player can spec to take out a vehicle or spec to take out a heavy but you cant spec to take out both at the same time unless your a heavy yourself. in that case your likely to be run over or shot while your reloading. if i fire swarm at you and av grenades you know im antitank spec so you just dismount and mow me down because i have no dps against heavy. if i shoot at you with anything else you still dismount and mow me down because im still at a disadvantage no matter the situation. |

its a HMG fired from the hip. close range effectiveness. and it defeats the purpose to have heavy armor and to sit at long range. everything in the game should have its purpose and be extremely effective at that purpose. but having an i win all the time setup is bad for any game. first it was long range hmg now its heavys moving about freely as 1 man armys with no support and no way to take them out short of taking them on in a tank |

Aero Yassavi wrote:Why do we even still have FREE LAVs? Aren't we past the point where players can either spec into them or buy their own darn militia LAVs?
i believe the quad type vehicle was meant to replace the free lav's (yes i did it again and idgaf)eventually but ccp has screwed up the removal of free lav's by adding lav bpo's to merc packs. but removing the free ones would be a start to fixing the problem |

Void Echo wrote:honestly you guys crying "nerf the heavy!!" had this coming, you killed their effectiveness from mid to long range now they are adapting and finding way to still do their job, this wouldn't be happening if you assaulters didn't whine about what you think heavies should be used for. so now what, your going to take away their ability to kill close range just because there doing what you said they should be doing along with their own adaptation and not what yours? oohh irony
no one said anything about nefing heavys. this was a post about balancing out something which is clearly unballanced. the lav counters the heavys slow manuverability and the the heavy counters the lavs lack of dps/accuracy. that added with the ability to kill anything with one hit by speeding into it makes both while used in conjunction with each other overpowered |
