Sidearm is the main difference. Cal logi is the better suit at the moment though i read on the feedback page, CCp are looking at adjusting the way they work. |

Do you think it will be changed in the future since im a long way away from even using one yet?
I thought they would maybe nerf the logi so thats why I was thinking assault. |

I dont see Cal logi's that often honestly, i see mostly Cal assault but most games have a nice mix (could just be me). Thats not to say that they are not taken advantage of by some because they are, and require a tweak. Though i wouldnt condone a nerf or messing with other logi's. |

Well you get higher movement and strafe speeds, which shouldn't be underestimated. Higher base health makes ip for a mod slot or two. The addition of sidearm also allows for highly effective weapon combos which are not available to Logis.
While the Cal Logi's bonus is definitely the strongest bonus among suits, most of the generic Logi QQ is just that. Generic QQ. |

Thanks man that helped.
Side to side strafing is one of my biggest issues with this game so that is good news.

you are a tool if you intend to use a logi suit as a pure assault. Because, you know, once that nerfhammer hits, you'll be left with an useless suit for your intended role. |

I have both at proto racial levels since CCP decided my ticket to respec was timed out (i'll just assume it had something to do with them not getting my email affirm from their downtime and it will still go thru), and my new one is about to be pending; all you'll notice is that you can make more money in the assault suit if you don't mind using it with an exile and some advanced/complex level modules or you can sacrifice 1 of your low slots and put a cpu upgrade on it. The logi uses so much more equipment & modules that it costs more in certain situations and needs more PG to do it for the inteded role. Don't forget that Flux is necessary for all that shield to be defeated in some moments. You could also go all bpo modules with them, but you can do that on level 1 suit so stacking them just seems silly unless you just want a goof suit.

This is a comparison I did of two loadouts using the Dust514 Fitting Tool. These both assume a duvolle AR, Core grenades, no sidearm (the assault didn't have the CPU) and no equipment.
We all know the logi suits are meant to utilize equipment, but if you fit them like an assault, they can do the assault position with nearly 250 more EHP, a shorter shield delay, self armor repair (as much as a complex repairer would be needed on the assault) with only a minor drop in speed and shield recharge.
I have to wonder if the logi suits were meant to be better, or if CCP honestly thought people wouldn't ditch the equipment for more EHP?
tl;dr logi suit works better than the assault, wtf? |

Im thinking about sticking with the basic. the level 3 isnt too bad and the level 4 looks great for a variety of roles. i do like have the logi suit for nanohives and spawn beacons but think that is better reserved for domination or ambush game types and i play skirmish most of the time anyway. |
