Dear Devs GǪ i try to give some ideas here, no flame. YouGÇÖr on a good way with Dust514, it has potential in many ways.
I know youGÇÖr working on the Falloff for Handguns, but keep in mind that weapon should be in a right relation to each other!
ItGÇÖs 2013 in the Real word and Dust514 is something like 2500+ LetGÇÖs talk about the Weapons and their Characteristics NOW in the Real World (Source is Wikipedia):
Assault rifle: Should at least have a firing range of 300 meters Machine Gun: The M60 (as example from 1950) is considered effective up to 600 meters when firing at a point target; and up to 200 meters when firing at a moving point target Submachine Gun: Key realizations made during World War II, notably the fact that most small-arms engagements occurred within 90 meters Sniper Rifles: Effective ranges in combat situations have been stated at between 600 to 1,300 m (as Example Dragunov from 1963) Shotgun: 12GÇ¥ Gauge from 18-37 m with a spread of 100-150cm (Spas-12 as Example) Grenade Launcher: Depends strongly on the Rounds 10-45 meters (Like M203)
Ok, letGÇÖs say this is for the Earth and the G-Force of 9.8, so It will change from Planet to Planet, depending on the G-Force. But i donGÇÖt want to be pedantic :P
It would be enough, if Weapons could get a more realistic range then today. I mean its a SciFi game and weapons changed dramatically within the last 50 years so imagine 500 years later! |

Yeah! Its not about the real ranges ... but rethinking about the current ones
One Example, the role of "Machine Guns" were always: hard to move, lokal standby but terrible for offenders. atm its just bullshit! |
