Even though they're going to fix the Armor Tanking for Gallente (here,) I honestly don't think they should have armor tanking at all due to the cosmetic appearance they have unless they bring in the placeholder heavy for Gallente. It should really belong to the Amarr. I think Gallente should have moderate shielding like the Caldari with speed like the Minmatar, but not armor. The Gallente armors look scrawny, however sleek they look. Maybe give them higher armor repairer instead of armor bonus. My first character is a Gallente and I love him, but I think it's a silly idea being heavily armored while running around in a thin suit. |

It may be that the Gallente are more advanced in this area than the other factions.
How can that be? The Amarr is the oldest and the most advanced race in EVE, so therefore they should have this technology too. |

Denak Kalamari wrote:You obviously have not played EVE Online at all, let me give you a quick breakdown:
Gallente ships are designed to have really strong armor but not very much in terms of hitpoints, focusing on armor hardeners and the like. Caldari focus on shields, having a lot and quite strong shields on their ships. Amarr focus on having a ****-ton of armor but not much resistance. Minmatar are the mid-ground, being able to do a little bit of everything.
I guess that makes sense now.
Gallente has armor, but low HP and therefore can die when the armor is penetrated. Amarr has more HP and that makes them more like the Paladins. |

Exactly, and for some reason we also get a speed and movement penalty to make us even slower if we decide to run plates.
I see your point and I find it unfair now, which makes me question the Gallente even more. The Gallente gets to run around with no movement penalty and they're the armor tankers? This should be fixed.

My first character is a Gallente and I love him, but I think it's a silly idea being heavily armored while running around in a thin suit. You must hate my people :I, even though our suits are "tight" our bodies are covered more than the Caldari, the Caldari seem to have Cloth under their armor plates. Although I believe the Gallente suit should look like the 2nd suit in this image http://www.blackpalette.com/wp-content/gallery/artworks/battlesuits.jpg.
I don't hate the Gallente. In fact, I love the Gallente passionately. Gallente is #1 and Amarr is #2 for me. But I still think it's wrong for the Gallente to have superior armor bonuses. Even when playing as one, I still feel funny when others try to take me down and I'm still standing. If I role-play as one in a RPG, I will remove the armor bonuses and add some other stats to even it out. Having armored ships and tanks for Gallente is fine, but not for Gallente characters. |
