I don't understand why people stay in the no squad section, people should always be in squads even if you are the one to make the squad. Orbital strikes can make a difference between a winning and losing game sometimes, so why not join a squad and help out to get an OB, also you got some green arrows to stick with, sure being in no squad helps the team but being in a squad helps more, if you don't want to talk to people just join and mute. Also I for one would like orbital strikes not available to us (many deaths from them lol) but as long as we have them, why not contribute to getting them? Point is, Ive been seeing like 7 or 8 no squad people lately per game. |

Because: 1. New players may not know about OB and WP. 2. They don't have a mic and/or are shy 3. Can't be bothered
That said, even when running solo I generally plonk myself into a squad to contribute my WP while muting everyone and doing my own thing. |

n00bs maybe. There's not exactly a tutorial on squad building and tactics in the Academy. Which honestly, kind of makes it worthless. Here's a weapon, now go out there and shoot people isn't exactly a good training environment. |

CCP doesn't bother to explain to the new players WHY they should be in a squad, so they don't join a squad. The new player experience in this game is laughably terrible and you can't really fault players for not knowing what the **** is going on if the developer doesn't care to tell them. |

I really don't understand why people are so quick to blame the player as the root of the game's problems and not CCP / the game itself...
The answer is simple. The game is garbage (not automatically placing players into squads is a broken game mechanic) and completely lacks a tutorial. |

Because most people that form squads are too stupid to even set objectives let alone use orbital strikes.
Because some people don't like having all of their hard work and wp used to give the squad leader even more wp by using strikes and then take a larger cut of their ISK at the end.
Because specing yourself to carry around enough drop links to spawn 30 people from a single fit is wasted on 5 people who may die enough to use up half that much.
Because even when you are squadded up it isn't as if you can tell one green arrow from another on the map so unless you're in your squads face 24/7 you have no better clue of who is doing what then when you're out of a squad.
Because 6 people decide to form their own squads that end up with 2-3 people max anyway.

If that is what the majority of ppl want, then i'll just join any random in match squad. I'm usually in unsquaded because i'm not much of a team player and tend to do my own thing and even if I am listening to mics, I never speak unless it is to say a location of a tank. Don't care for chit chat. |

When i join public match solo i usually never join an open squad because the "open squad" is usually a blueberry that wanted the role of sqaud leader. They probably wont get an orbital, even if they do they don't notice that they have one. I feel like it's just a waste of time to join a sqaud when i go in SOLO. Its called solo for a reason. |

Ah. I have my own drop uplink fit and never rely on others for them. Did not think about this being an obstacle to squad membership.
Thanks. |

Why didn't they know what to do? There wasn't anything to do. Tactics in this game are hugely get-gear based, in that the best laid plans are often ruined by a rambling squad of one-shot killers. In Skirmish, each NULL is just another thing to get killed doing. Squads are just six-sided turrets blasting lead all about. Tanks and other vehicles are either impossibly dangerous or inconsequential. The lack of true, "everybody has basically the same thing" balance effectively negates the need for tactics in this game, or even the appearance of them. The only real tactic is the individual kill, and only gear gets you that. 9+ times out of ten, when I get killed, it's delta-x that did it. Usually 14 out of the 16 couldn't care less which points on the map are blue, and if they do care, they expect someone else to get them. I stay happy by reducing this game to "what, among the thundering chaos which is the coin-flip ending of this match, can I do for fun?" Your mileage may vary. |

This bit doesn't make sense. 'Hard work and wp' to give their sqd leader more WP by using strikes? Taking a larger cut of their ISK? If they don't join squads, they waste the WP they get anyway, so it's not really giving up anything. You do know that, beyond a single match, WP doesn't mean anything, nor does it carry over like SP, don't you? Or did you think that an orbital strike uses up the WP of the squad members?
And anyway, a good OB will kill more stuff meaning more ISK payout for the team, meaning everyone's cut will be bigger...

What do I care if we win or not? This ain't PC
Also, leaderboard(WP) position determines what portion of the ISK payout you recieve, at least that's what I heard. |

I personally like to be squad leader, so I often go solo until I get squaddies but I agree, if you're sitting without a squad, just join one. I like to invite any players who are not in a squad too, it doesn't often work mind you. |

Yeah alot of it has to do with being uninformed also for me I'm pretty forgetful so if often forget to join or a i join and then forget and end up being queed for another match and it makes me rage But it is really beneficial and honestly going in squad chat you sometimes meet some great guys and can play with them a few rounds. |
